5/3/1 BBB of a Weak Ass

Yeah like Ronnie doing rows with the same weight he was benching but man I thought my rows werent that bad hahah. I’ll improve them and change assistance work next cycle

Im feeling so tired after deadlifting that I just want to eat and sleep but I cant as I have to do a lot of things and study a lot. If the weights dont kill me, the stress will. Just 1 more month.

I’d like to know if you do grip work and what exercises because I thought of doing farmer walks after squats to improve grip strength

why don’t you adhere to Jim’s recommendation on assistance work? and why don’t you do more chinups?

I like chinups but I cant do more than 6 or 7 without stopping. I also feel pain in the left shoulder (maybe caused by bad technique). Do you think they are better than rows or other back exercise?

they are better since they are a bw movement, but you should do both to completely develop your back and its strength from all angles. jim recommends multiple sets of low reps… try supersetting your main and supplemental work with 10 sets of 3-5 reps of chins.

why don’t you just stick to Jim’s recommendation on assistance work? it is not very sensible to follow up your BBB supplemental work with another barbell movement like CGBP…you should do 25-50 reps of push pull and single leg/abs assistance if you’re running BBB, on EVERY training day. push assistance includes dips, push ups, DB bench/incline/press, triceps pushdowns, so pick one of those each day and ditch the CGBP

when he said 2:1 I don’t think he meant the weights you use but rather the ratio of pulling to pushing movements. and while I don’t think that a ratio as high as 2:1 is necessary, it does seem to be very obvious that you are doing noticeably and disproportionally more pushing than pulling, which will screw with your shoulder joint health pretty quickly. also you should probably do push ups and (more) facepulls to improve shoulder blade movement patterns rarely trained and serratus anterior strength.

do pullups feel any better?

I usally do facepulls/band pull aparts and other shoulder movements because of that. Maybe I have been mistaked long time because I thought that my rowing was much better than pushing. Its true that since I started 5/3/1 pushing has improved a lot but rows keep still

I tried to do like a set of 10 at the end of the work out and I was surprised because I thought that I wouldnt do more than 3 and I ended up doing 9.
Knowing that, almost sure that Im going to include them as accessory next cycle

Ohhhhhhh yesss baby. Today Im suuuuuper happy because I did the last exam of physics and because I had 95kg for bench (a weight that I have never moved) and I thought that I would do like 2 or 3 reps.

Okaaay man Im feeling unstoppable as I have never failed a set while doing 5/3/1 an it remains the same! I have also readjusted kcals to ~3200kcals.

Yesterday was rest day so not much, just studying and doing boring things. Now im taking my coffe and heading to gym asap

After having slept like 6 hours and a half, I had breakfast and went to gym. Today I had deadlifts and more deadlifts as assistance.

Im so hyped to see Kern US Open. I cant even focus on studying before it starts!! I really want to see Ben Pollack, Kevin Oak, Larry Wheels and Brandon Allen killing weights

Back to training again! Only two days but felt like an eternity to me, specially while watching thr Kern Us Open and not being able to lift because of exams. However, today wad the first day of the sixth week and it’s starting to get serious.
