And I agree. However, no other race benefits from racism in the way whites do. To ignore that fact is to ignore the entire context of any raciacally charged event.

We get to spend our whole lives being assumed to be intelligent, peaceful, competent people. When was the last time someone seemed surprised when you used a big word?
We agree.

But I think that your second statement has more to do with culture than anything else…the black kids I played football with in college had to hide any overt intelligence as to not be labeled a “Uncle Tom college boy” by their fiends back home.

I hope you can see, then, why a black person “being racist” while being equally wrong, is met with different responses than when a white person does it.

You get called cracker. It doesnt really bother you that much - because you spend your life not constantly worried that people are judging you poorly based on your race, cops dont expect you to be a criminal, store owners dont pay “extra attention” to you, people dont call you a “well spoken white guy” as though its uncommon, you dont have to worry about other members of your race seeing you as a traitor, or that members of other races being involved with you would be seen as a step down for them. You probably dont think about race that much.

The reverse is true for black people in America. All those factors breed sensitivity and, yes, oversensitivity. So it really bothers them to be called a nigger.

Feelings and reactions are not arbitrary. A black person cannot “just shrug it off” the way you or I can.

If I see a 20 yr old Crown Vic with black dudes in it driving through my subdivision - you bet I’m gonna be paying extra attention to it.
Am I “racist” ?

Yes.
Explain.

You’re treating people differently based on their race. You’re assuming that you should pay some extra attention to those black dudes - because they’re black.
yeah, because to use your own words I can’t “shrug off” the race/crime stats.

Perhaps…but reverse racism is just as stinging as traditional racism…if you are on the receiving end.

I think we look at it differently…partly because I was raised in a low income neighborhood in central California that was about 20% white, so I am less apt to not “let it bother me that much”…where I grew up, if you show any weakness you get fucked up.

Unfortunately, none of this is borne out by the facts. First of all, there is likely very little to no systemic racism in the criminal justice system. Cops don’t “expect” blacks to be criminals. Blacks are often more criminals, and so police (rightly) pay more attention to blacks. To not do so would be silly. For instance, no one says that police should pay as much attention to women as to men, because men are clearly more violent. Well, on the same token, blacks are far more dangerous than other racial groups and far more likely in particular to target whites than other racial groups. Why, then, isn’t it rational for police to include in their profile, black as a relevant indication of criminality?

Furthermore, whites are the ones who are now judged on their race the most. Whites walk around with constant fear of offending nonwhites, with a constant label of “racist”, “oppressor”, etc. Whites are the only legally discriminated against group in the US, so they have much more reason to fear constant judging.

I agree with the part about blacks judging other blacks poorly - this is one of the few that is probably socially taught to a large extent.

What you are doing is just feeding into the cultural Marxist frenzy of victimization of nonwhites. A completely standard defense of the pervasive racial orthodoxy which is based on emotion and expectation rather than logic and fact.

Dude, if the majority of crimes in my neighborhood is committed by purple people, I get nervous whenever I see Barney the fucking dinosaur.

Does that make me a racist?

Who cares when I get to keep my stuff, health, life?
