Thanks @Graemsay that’s good to know, Yeah that is what he put me on, I asked the same while I was there and he said I could halve it to once a week, I’m still thinking I will go twice a week, I could then take my AI the same day as KSman suggests. I haven’t got them as yet, can you replace the needle only? I was going to throw up here about syringe re-use or whether I should back fill 4 syringes ready to go for 2 weeks.
@flash74 the method he told me was:
- Remove rubber cap from the preloaded syringe.
- Put a needle on.
- Inject half the contents from the syringe.
- Remove and dispose of the needle.
- Replace the rubber cap that came with the syringe.
- Repeat the following week.
I had been concerned that removing the syringe from the sealed pack would mean it was no longer sterile, but he didn’t raise that, so I’m assuming it would be OK.
I’m sticking with the fortnightly protocol for the next injection or two, as I’ve just reduced my AI dose. I’m going to try weekly in the near future. I’m wanting to change things one at a time, and let them settle, rather than doing everything at once.
How did you organise a Sydney appointment with Dr Z? I am located in Canberra and would like to see him. Does he do online / phone appointments,
The best way is to contact the Point Walter Medical Centre, and arrange it through them.
@Graemsay I have my hands on the goods.
My chemist couldn’t tell me the right needle to buy. I wanted get the BD ultra fine 29G 12.7mm, you can packs of 100 for $25, see link below. Are they all screw on? They tried to get me to buy 23G! I said no way they were huge.

That’s good news.
I’ve got a pile of 21 gauge needles to work through, so haven’t shopped for any more yet.
I think that all needles just push on. I don’t know if they’re a standard size, but suspect they are. Perhaps take an empty plastic syringe along (minus the pin), and see if they can advise.
Incidentally, I found Chemist Warehouse to be a lot cheaper than Priceline Pharmacy for filling my prescription.
I just want to put these here. I found them both both very informative recent youtube vids. Then i couldn’t find them again.
Flash have you asked him about subQ injections or bi weekly injections. Curious as to what he has to say there. Hes my doctor too but I havent gone down the TRT route just yet
@tj1988 I did ask him about bi weekly, he said its not needed as the lifespan of the primoteston is quite long. But I ignored him and have been doing bi weekly sq injections. I’m back filling 29G 12mm 0.5CC syringe, quite easy and no issue so far but I’ll go 1 CC next time. Blood test is next Monday, so we’ll see how my T, E2 and PSA is going. I still feel shit though. 4 weeks on injections, 6 weeks on AI.
Yeah well primoteston is enthanate if memory serves me right. Does it come in a vial or preloaded amps in Australia and what does it cost??
Also to add to your videos go to youtube and type in the search bar “MuscleInsider Ask the Doc”
Thats a very informative channel and the doctor Rand Mcclain is pretty knowledgable on the topic.
@tj1988 It comes in 3 preloaded syringes. The needle is massive, long and thick. No way I was going to put that into my muscle over and over again. Each syringe 2 weeks worth, so for about $35 bucks it lasts for 6 weeks. Heaps cheaper than the gel I was using. Mine looks like the image below, as you can see the needle is as long as the vial

As @flash74 said, it comes in a box of three, preloaded syringes. The cheapest I’ve found it is at Chemist Warehouse for $27 or $28.
I haven’t tried any of the enormous needles it comes packaged with yet.
I’ve not asked Dr Z about subcutaneous injections, I figured that I’ll just try them myself at some point. Nor have I discussed bi-weekly shots. I’m not sure if they’re necessary, and splitting a syringe four ways sounds like a bit of effort.
I believe that @BrickHead does them every seven days, and he’s in better shape than most of us.
Thats pretty cheap then. Was Dr Z able to prescribe the test himself or did you have to go thru an endo since Australia has those dumb rules where you need to be under 6 nmol/L and regular GPs lost their power to prescribe test without an urologist or endo…cheers for the answers guys
Dr Z could prescribe it directly.
The 6 nmol/L rule refers to subsidised medicines, which caps the price to $38. Since you can buy injectable testosterone for less, it doesn’t matter. If you were on gels, then it’d make a difference.
Thanks. I am convinced there’s hardly any difference in well being between 100 mg once per week to 50 mg twice per week.
primoteston [T ethanate - enanthate] needs to be injected twice a week, it is faster than T cyp, thats the truth, it is also a fact that this is difficult with the way your injectables are supplied.
Try to get empty sterile vials and inject all of the T into that and proceed with subq with insulin needles. That would be the best of all possible worlds for your situation.
If you inject ever two weeks, T levels are changing to much for anastrozole/Arimidex to match.
I’ll look into vials, how do you go @KSman getting the last drops out of the vial? Do you use the 29G to get oil out, or swap needles.
Just an update I started on Anastrazole while still taking my testogel, this was done for 2 weeks, I then started on .25ml (62.5mg) of primotestone twice a week, Monday and Thursday, 0.5mg of anastrazole the same day. Had some bad headaches week 3 on TRT and at 5 week anastrazole, stopped anastazole until I got my labs done following week. Had not had anastrazole for week and half and no T for 3.5 days. T was very high, so I guess its was maxed out for a few days as this was 3.5 days later. Doctor was very surprised and said its really getting in there. He’s said I now have to take half of what most guys do to get same results, heard of this before @KSman? I’ve now halved my dose to .125ml twice a week hopefully get it fluctuating between 20-35. My PSA should come down with this as well. My main query, the headaches was it low E2, then it jumped back up that quickly. Can it jump back that high in 10 days?
Results
Testosterone 41.4H [11-40] nmol/L
SHBG 15 [10-70] nmol/L
Oestradiol 149 [55-165] pmol/L
PSA 3.1 H [0.25-2.2] ug/L
Cal FT 1483 H [260-740] pmol/L
If your primotestone is same as on the picture its 250mg per ml so you were injecting 125mg per week.
Cheers I’ll have to double check when I get home, but your probably right. I’ll update my post for now.
