Hey guys, as the the title says I’m 37 been on trt for nearly 3 years but stopped for a year to see if I could do natural t replacement… it failed…
So my original diagnosis was at 34. I was losing my career, lost my wife of 17 years and was suicidal… I had no idea until after I lost pretty much everything I had worked so hard for that I was suffering from low T. My total test was at 46…
Testosterone replacement was like I was a new man! Confident, outgoing again, full of energy and expensive… I was on it about a year and a half before I decided to try a more natural approach. That was a mistake it took almost a year before I started seeing symptoms of depression again so I got tested… 104 total test… so back on trt I went. But this time at the family practitioner, the treatment cost me 8 bucks a month compared to 180 at the low T center, So now it’s affordable.
Which is why I’m here… I’m still not feeling well, I got my bloods back today and I wasn’t surprised to see I was all over the place… results are as follows,
Free test 18.6
DHEA-Sulfate 458.4
Sex hormone binding glob serum 11.7
Estradiol 18.2
Estrogens total 158
He basically said everything looked good to just take more anastrozal or how ever you spell it.
My dose is 200 a week and the anastrozole every other day at .05 upped from once a week.
Are you injecting testosterone daily? I sure hope it’s not 200mg once weekly.
Low SHBG men do better on an EOD or ED TRT protocol, it’s the only way to keep off the hormonal roller coaster. My SHBG is 16 and I don’t do well injecting testosterone once or twice weekly, I do very well injecting 20mg EOD.
If you are injecting testosterone once a week, your levels are peaking within 24-48 hours and are dropping dramatically on day 3 and by day 6 your levels have plummeted. This is the hormonal roller coaster, if you tested on day 2, 4 and 6 you would see levels dropping fast. You will NEVER feel normal doing things this way.
It’s 200 weekly… he had me pushing 200 every two weeks… that was painful full depression mode by day 6 or 7 and crazy by 10 to 14. I almost pushed my new girlfriend out of my life, thank god she’s understanding…
Your levels are always changing and your labs aren’t really showing where you are, it’s showing where you “were” and never the same on other days.
My levels are always the same with very minor fluctuations and is the reason why I feel the same all the time. When men take depression medication, they don’t wait for withdrawal symptoms before taking their next dose, that take it well before withdrawal symptoms develop so that the feel even all of the time.
@dannybrouk You really are everywhere asking about sub q…haha. just do it man, seriously. No one can tell you what the safest protocol is for you, except maybe your doctor?? Just try it, see what happens… You don’t like it, go to IM.
Endo hadn’t seen anything like it, it was due to the location of the tumor which was pressing against the pituitary gland and had stopped all T production for over a year. Fortunately however the tumor was benign and hadn’t grown in that year and was easily removed via my nasal cavity!
You had less than 1 NMOL Testosterone for 1 Year @urban_samurai? is that True? just wondering if so i bet you had Zero Energy Brother to do anything and wanted to sleep in all day.
I have all the paperwork to back it up. I was sleeping 14hrs a day, I was off work sick and ended up suffering from depression.
I was suffering from constant headaches for a number of days at a time which used to cause me to vomit.
Each time I saw my doc he said it was migraine, it took me a very long time to be referred for blood tests and then saw an endo…he performed a brain scan and saw that I had a pituitary tumor, he then tested my T levels and said that he had never seen a level so off the bottom of the scale in his life time.
So back to @spankiee, yeah your bloodwork is trash and so are the numbers you’ve got on the bloodwork you do have. You need to make adjustments to your protocol. You can use 200 mg a week if you insist but I dont think you need it that high. It’s most likely why your shbg is so low. You should split it to at least a 3.5 day protocol and if I were you I’d drop the dose and the ai. Your estrogen test is Roche eclia method and while I will openly admit there are gentlemen on this site that have had success with it… I would recommend you at least try the sensitive method. In clinical studies the Roche eclia overstated e2 levels. Sometimes dramatically. Worse case I would do both and compare. Essentially I’m saying your e2 could be even lower than 18 possibly. If you can avoid using the anastrozole then you should. It only complicates things by introducing a female breast cancer drug into your treatment.
