365-Rep New Year's Challenge 2015

FML…

I think I’m going to take a little different approach to the challenge, and use 365 for the weight. 100 deadlift reps @ 365. Maybe I’ll throw in a complimentary lift as well. pull ups or OHP or something.[/quote]

Did you actually do it this way flip?

I’m in.
I had an accident a couple of months ago so low intensity with crazy volume probably suits at the moment.
I lost 6 kilograms in hospital so pullups are probably a wise choice.
I have a bulging disc in my lumbar so for leg work I might go with Bulgarian split squats.

Sounds painful but what the hell.

I’m keen for doing this again

Sounds brutal, can I cop out with shrugs and the leg press? lol jk.

Definitely in. I’ll just have to think of something suitably evil.

Can we do carries? 14 feet = 1 rep. 365 reps would then equal about 1 mile.

Tried to combine flipcollar’s idea with the original idea, but there’s no upper body exercise for me where 365 lbs would happen.

180 Reps with 365 lbs on a trap bar.

185 reps with 185 lbs flat benching.

Took my time, took a little over two hours. Definitely going to feel it tomorrow.

I’ll do mine on NYE. The plan is to do alternating sets of squats and pullups. Each set will be done every minute on the minute, 6 reps per set (since 2016 is a leap year, I’ll do 366 reps). This should keep the workout at around 75 minutes with a good warmup.

Squats will be done with bodyweight loaded on the bar. Pullups will be unloaded.

I still have video of last year’s challenge, but have been unable to figure out how to upload. I have a new camera this year though, so I’ll throw up a video when I’m done.

Bump. Any other takers?

I was debating doing one arm C and P, 183 per side, but looking back through, everyone seems to be squatting so I’m debating doing half and half.

Either way, I’ve got until Friday to decide.

Holy crap man. That’s so much. How many reps did you do per set on each? Did it vary?

Hi all,

I did with a 16kg kettlebell:
A1: 1handed kettlebell press (later sets push press).
A2: “1handed” kettlebell front squat (racked at elbow but grabbing the holding hand which other hand).

Did the following reps:
Right (weak arm): 1, 3, …, 19.
Left: 2, 4, …, 18.

Thats 190 reps for each exercise or 370 reps total. Took 50min. Not during that again anytime soon

Second workout of the day, not a great idea.

366 reps clean and press (/jerk/whatever it fucking takes to get this shit overhead), 40kg.

Took me 2.5 hours and sucked some pretty major balls. I apparently didn’t learn from last year.

Very cool to see this was resurrected. Good call, Steve.

I did a Crossfit girl four times in a row. It took about an hour and a half and I felt like dying after 10 minutes.

Really though, the Crossfit WOD Elizabeth is 135-pound cleans and ring dips, 21-15-9 each. That’s 45 reps total, so I figured, “Hey, 45x4 is 180. Must be a sign”

So yeah, a set of 5 dips and then 21 power cleans with 135, 21 unweighted ring dips, 15 cleans, 15 dips, 9 cleans, 9 dips, lay on floor, convince myself to do it again, repeat. Each batch of reps was broken into mini-sets, so the whole thing ended up being: power cleans 46x2-7 and ring dips 35x2-11. Suffice to say, I’m not feeling too peppy this morning.

This sounded so much more fun before you added the rest of the message.

That sounds awful. Good work.

Havent posted here in a while, this damn challenge sucked me back in.

Bench 225 - 10x10 and 9x9

SSB Split squats 112# - sets of 7-15 each leg for 184 reps

The bench was just too much, went through the 10x10 in about 30 minutes but the 9x9… lets just say the rest periods got very very long.

While doing the squats I thought I undershot on the weight, got through all the work in about 35 minutes, but now I can’t walk.

I had planned on doing this on NYE, but we have family in town. Did this earlier today.

Squats
30x6x205
1x3x205

Pullups
30x6xBW
1x3xBW

  • Holy shit balls.
  • Started with alternating sets of squats/PUs done every minute on the minute. At about the 20 minute mark, I added another 15 seconds between sets. About the 45 minute mark, the rest periods ended up around 90 seconds.
  • Hamstrings are going to be soooooorrrrreeee tomorrow!
