But like usual you took me to some university somewhere where they also have no basis for believing ANYTHING they believe either.

So, what is the all governing first principle that dictates the framework for science AT ALL. I have gotten absolutely nobody to address that. They keep sending to the very thing I’m asking for the basis of. Somebody’s gonna get this.

That reality exists, that we are a part of it, and that we have the capacity to observe and learn about it. It doesn’t get much more basic than that.
Sure reality exists, but what is it, exactly?
As you pointed out in another thread, we don’t even know if reality exists, or at least that what we perceive as reality actually is reality. It’s an unprovable metaphysical question.

Why are all the really important questions so damn unanswerable??

We can deduce it exists, we just don’t know what it is exactly. I don’t know that we cannot know, it’s just not been figured out. But it exists, we just need to know something of it’s make up to infer what it is likely to be.

I think they are hard because you learn more from searching than you would if you just knew. Our physical capacities can tell us somethings about it, but it’s truth is not material. Humans are hopelessly limited…

If you would like to believe in God, all the power to you. I love the idea of something instead of nothing. However, if you believe in any religion you are…deluded? illogical? oh,…and holding the species back! If there is a God, he sure did not let humans suffer through thousands of years of disease, starvation, want and war; to interfere in the desert two thousand years ago, and leave his message to be manipulated. Religion is an embarrassment, and it is shameful to indoctrinate children into it.

Well said big4fan!!! I’m a big fan.

You churchies are right. Damn the facts! God created the heavens and the earth.

Let’s have a old fashioned book burning!!!

Yeah, that’s been tried, many many times…Don’t think atheism is some new found revelation…It’s been around as long as people. You’re not breaking any new ground here.
