Also got in a couple of games refereeing at a big adult hockey tournament in town. 36 teams were in it.

Didn’t try putting a team together due to the mess with the house and truck.

Ugh… I hate moving. Glad you got everything going your way now.

Hopefully, lol. Just got the keys to the new place. Quite the shock from having lived in a house for the last 30 years…

20160426 - Hockey

Skills Camp - 1.5 hours

Discovered I left the horse liniment in my referee bag…

Head coach ran the drills. Started off with some speed and crossover drills and then we did a lot of shooting drills. Ended the session with a lot of 2 on 2, 3 on 2, 3 on 3 cross ice scrimmages, and a Tabitha style skate at the end.

Knees survived.

Wow! 30 years is a long time,and a lot of stuff…lol glad the knees survived.

So am I, lol!

Although I paid for it by being woken up during the night from knee pain.

20160427 - Hockey

Skating Lessons - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour

Found out skating lessons are being suspended for a couple of months at the rink I’m at on Wednesdays. Will have to see what I can work out on schedules.

Scrimmage, we were short a goalie. :frowning:

I had several good shots and redirections on him, just couldn’t get it all the way past the goal line.

I did get to see a baby tornado keep trying to form in West Omaha during the afternoon.

Tweaked my right knee on the third set. When I got up to do set four, I couldn’t put weight on it. :frowning:

Went home and iced the knee.

20160430 - Hockey

League playoff game - 1 hour.

Won 6-2. I got an assist. Which was pretty amazing since I had to literally use a cane to walk Friday from the knee tweak Thursday night at the gym.

Lot’s of ice and NSAIDs during the day. Finally got to where I could walk and put weight on it last night.

Woke up and it was still a little tender but laced up and had a great game.

Glad you had a good game, sorry about the knee.

20160501 - Hockey

League Championship Game - 1 hour

Lost 3-2. Got behind 3-0 and just couldn’t quite get back even.

Got sprayed with beer after the game by team for the effort and game I played.

Best game I had all season.

Had PBR and donuts for the after game recovery.

20160504 - Hockey

Wednesday Night Mens Hockey - 1 hour

Lots of good passes, several decent shots on net. No goals.

Best chance on scoring was a 2 on 1 break away and I missed the pass back from the other forward on a wide open net.

I’ll get one next week.

Right knee still iffy.

Bike - 5 minute warmup at about 100 rpms, light load

New scrimmage. A lot slower then my Wednesday night skate.

Suddenly I’m in the upper set of skaters.

Had fun, made good passes.

Still no goals, but had a nice conversation after with a lady AF Captain about how she ended up in Omaha to play ice hockey.

Wednesday Night Men’s Scrimmage - 1 hour

Short Benches with only 2 extra per side.

Good passes, several good shots on net, no goals.

I did screen the goalie and draw off a defender for the dark bench to get a goal.

All good.
