2 hours refereeing for a tournament here in town.
Knees felt good for the first game, a little off on the second.
Overall I was able to go hard for two hours and not feel like I had to take it easy on the knees.

Skating lessons - 1 Hour. I really have no balance skills whatsoeverā¦
Scrimmage - 1 hour hour.
Knees felt ok.
Things have been off with lifting, my father, whoās 79, was admitted into the hospital with intestinal bleeding. Been up there with him and dealing with family issues.
He is in good spirits and the upper and lower GI cleaned up some issues, and got some biopsies.

What sort of warming up do you usually do before playing?
Stretching, lunges, Liniment on the knees, I now always wear knee braces under the gear to be safe.
That is definitely premium!

In reviewing my workout log, I am back up to similar weight levels I was lifting prior to my knee issues.
Squats are still 20 lbs off, but Iāll be there in another cycle or two.
20160227 - Hockey
League game - 1 hour
Won 5-4 against a pretty good team. Captain moved people around and I ended up playing defense for the first 2 periods. Moved back up to winger for the 3rd, apparently the defense player who was moved up got too worn out playing forward⦠![]()
Scored the next 2 games for league, then waited another hour to see if the team I subbed in for was going to be short. They were so I got in another game. They lost 1-3. Never seemed to be able to get a puck bounce going are way.
I did get thrown into the penalty box for I donāt know what⦠I suggested roughing.
So I think I may have found something that helps my knees out. It was suggested by a power lifter at my gym.
Used it tonight for both games. It started heating up slower and lasted much longer then the maximum strength stuff I was getting from the department store.
Picked it up from a Farming Supply store in the Equine department, lol ![]()

20160228 - Hockey
Scrimmage - 1 hour
Did another scrimmage, this one with most of the skaters being much better then I am. As in former college and pro players. No goals but stripped the puck away while playing defense against a really good player. Got a high five from a pro for that, and he was on that guyās bench, lol.
Used the Thermaflex again. Knees felt good for the skate.
I love that youāre using horse liniment. Impressed that you stay with the hockey.

good for you for not being specieists. Are you going to be saying neighhhy from now on and eating hay. Iām not knocking it, I might try it that myself, I would love the legs of a race horse.
I have used Thermaflex.
You can also try another equine product which I currently use called McTarnahanās Blue Lotion. Less menthol than Thermaflex but also has methyl salicylate and camphor. I think Thermaflex lasts a bit longer but Blue Lotion seems a bit more effective for my knees.
Thanks for the advice. The Thermaflex is keeping my knees warm through all three periods of playing hockey. Usually, if I sit too long between shifts in the third, thy would stiffen up.
