What does that word mean to you exactly?

Further…why would any of you believe that everyone who believes in a higher power also believes the world is only 6,000 years old?

I don’t think that believing in a higher power automatically assumes you believe the world is 6,000 years old, but attempting to disprove dating methods sure does begin to reek of it.

A person who disagrees with the findings and workings of scientists.

And exactly, why do people who believe a higher power have to go along with the young-world theory. I don’t think anyone here is bashing religion just the weirdos who believe scientists smarter than them don’t know what they’re doing…

Who said that was the case?

Creationism – ie, the “scientific theory” we are referring to – typically involves the belief that the planet is only 6 - 10k years old.

? You think all creationists disagree with the findings of scientists?

So…in your mind…you don’t think any of those scientists could be creationists?

This isn’t even true. Creationism doesn’t have anything specifically to do with a young world theory.

Also, I believe in God. I also know the moon is moving away from us year by year so clearly at some point, it is very likely the moon was a “part of us”…which is why the collision world theory as far as the creation of Earth from two separate celestial bodies is interesting.

Some of you seem to have a very cartoonish understanding of what some people believe.

I guess that makes some of you FEEL smarter.

Well, then the “creationists” we are referring to believe in the Young Earth Theory.

Each of you please address the above. If you can’t do so just sit back and watch me scoff.
We’ve been down this road before, push. I’ll save you the trouble of posting walls and walls and pages of text of “scientific” “evidence” from web site that states outright that "By definition, no apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the scriptural record."

Feel free to scoff, though. The 99.8% of all chemists, biologists, taxonomists, geneticists, geologists, cosmologists, astronomists, and editors of every major scientific journal who believe in evolution will be scoffing harder.

Well, how about you do more than the same song and dance routine where every atheist here gets to show us how “smart” they are by degrading beliefs held by people…some of whom are smarter than they are.

It’s fucking tired, dude. None of you are shining that huge intellect at us when you do this.

I’m going to let you into that select group I mentioned above. YOU now get to tell me all about the infallibility of dating methods.

Ready.

Set.

Go.

Get after it, or you will “reek” of hypocrisy.

I’ll wait.
I’m honored, but you can do your own research. I will side with science on the date of the Earth, religious texts are far more unreliable.
