Hey guys so I finally got my test results. A little bit more confusing than I thought.
Luckily my A1C came back normal, and although not great I’m not anywhere near prediabetes which is a relief.
Seems my SHBG is not as low as we were hypothesizing above. Estrogen isn’t low either.
I don’t really understand this labs form of Free Testosterone measurement… So anyway what do you guys think, do you still believe my Test is tops for my age group?
Also, I know my labs show FSH is just out of bracket range on these labs, on previous test it was 6.3
High FSH levels is seen in men with prostatic cancer and low testosterone. It could also be your pituitary gland detects that there is no sperm being produced.
Our data suggest that patients diagnosed with prostate cancer have low levels of serum testosterone and high levels of serum FSH compared with the patients with BPH. No support was found for the theory that high levels of testosterone increase prostate cancer risk.
thank you. Btw, saw that you finally decided to jump on TRT. I’ll be following you post, hopefully it works out for you. I also have bad anxiety so I know how much of a roller coaster it must be to do something like TRT.
My free T now is around 10, but I have not build up good levels and I still have most of my symptoms. Most people start to feel well around 20 as I have researched
Well if you look at the labs I got for free test, and convert 103.6 from pg/Ml to ng/dL it is 10.3 ng/Dl… and my calculated free test is 11.6 ng/dL. So let’s just average them out and say I most likely have a 11ng/dL free test…
Nothing to complain about, but definitely not optimal. I feel like this is one of those situations where you weigh the pros and cons of jumping on TRT…because although I am perfectly healthy and able to function physiologically, it is far from optimal. Which is why I feel like it’s so hard for me to gain muscle and recover from workouts. hmm idk
The sense I’ve gotten reading through these posts is that you really want to start TRT. Your numbers don’t indicate you need it – I started at your age, but my free T % was 1/3 of yours – but numbers obviously don’t tell the whole story.
So if you want to do TRT, I say just go for it and take a cautious ‘low and slow’ approach.
I honestly just don’t have a full understanding of what is considered “optimal” or good ranges by age group… And I know everyone sort of has a different idea on what that is… so I’m just erring on the side of caution. I’m very pro longevity, but I am also a huge advocate of quality of life… so if I’m living in nonoptimal hormone conditions, I want to address that as that affects my sex, athleticism, bodybuilding, self image and everything.
Honestly the later I can pin the better, because TRT means at least a year of trying to get dialed in and potentially missing out on key life moments.
Forget about the muscle. Ask yourself:
Do you have libido issues, brain fog, anxiety, emotional instability, tiredness, lack of energy and motivation?
This should determine whether to start TRT at such levels. Do not do it to gain muscle.
