i find it interesting that you suggest you feel your low testosterone started upon a lengthy duration of panic attacks. i can resonate with this, as panic attacks were terrible for me when my suspected hypogonadism started. i have however not read any medical research which can attribute low testosterone to panic disorders or anxiety. i have read that low testosterone is also accompanied by anxiety.

Interesting to speculate. I suspected I had an average amount of T and then the anxiety/panic and stress made things a lot worse.
An article comes to mind about apes and their cortisol/T levels being measured when they were in positions of social status and not. The apes at the bottom of the hierarchy had high cortisol and had lots of subcutaneous fat. Things changed when the same apes got in a higher position on the hierarchy.

Yep. The progesterone did and does help, though. At least the day I made a comment about it I felt like I was on ritalin and wanted to do everything at once. Then there are days where I don’t feel like I have the energy to even get out of bed.
I’ve been eating brasil nuts every day. Temperatures don’t change. I still wake up in the 96’s. Sometimes even the low 96’s. Do you think thyroid meds would help? I don’t have high rt3…
Hey KSMan,
I been prescribed 15mg armor thyroid which will be titrated up based on symptoms. This doctor agrees with following temperatures for hypothyroidism. My AM temps are typically less than 97 degrees.
Think this is the right thing to do? My rt3 wasn’t high yet my ft3/ft4/TSH seemed fine. What could this mean? How is it possible to have hypothyroidism but not detectable by blood tests? I’ve supplemented tyrosine for years, could’ve this screwed up my thyroid?
The thyroid lab test ranges are only good at flagging very serious problems.
TSH should be closer to 1.0
T3, fT3, T4, fT4 should be at or a bit above mid-range.
Few docs know this.
Docs never seem to ask about iodized salt intake.
Thanks again for your ongoing help. Glad I’m pursuing thyroid meds.
Another subject: do you have any advice on balding? I think TRT is making me bald a lot faster.
TRT is taking your hair loss to where you would be with good normal T levels.

Gotcha. So I guess I’ll accept it.
One more thing: HCG @ 250 iu EOD isn’t maintaining the size of my testes. They also feel sore. Is it safe to take any more than that?
We have seen issues like this before. So far, the problem has been bogus hCG or damaged from been shipped wet. Get a home pregnancy test. You should be positive. If not, call the pharmacy and ask them to take action.
Did the home pregnancy test. Was negative.
Called pharmacy. They said they’d replace but have to wait until next week. But promised that they’d tested the batch and it was potent to 1200iu/1mL but were selling it as 1000iu/mL. It was sent home with me in a cooling pack and I put it in my fridge and never left it out.
So the only possibility was the fridge. I picked up a fridge thermometer. …50 degrees while the room was cool at night. Serves me right for living in a place where all I get is a minifridge.
Dammit.
Live and you learn, I guess.
Thanks again so much for your help. I don’t know where I’d be without you.

I’m glad to see you’re getting everything sorted out. I feel like you and I have had very similar experiences since starting TRT.
I didn’t see; are you reconstituting the hcg yourself? If possible I would suggest doing so, that way you know it hasn’t been reconstituted and sitting around or accidentally shaken or dropped etc.
That being said, make sure when you reconstitute to draw the air needed from the vial holding the powdered hcg.
Inject that air into the ba water. Draw the ba water into the syringe and then shoot the water onto the side of the vial holding the hcg and SLOWLY since the negative pressure can force the water into the vial at high pressure, possibly destroying some of the Hcg.
Then as you already know, roll it gently in your hands and refridgerate on the coldest setting while still remaining liquid.

I bounced from my first self-reconstituted batch to a compound pharmacy pre-mixed (and potency tested) before I realized it was the fridge. So yep - back to 10,000iu vial of stuff I reconstitued using technique above.
It’s a lot of plusses and minuses. Rapidly balding kind of sucks. The cost could be manageable but the fridge blunder costed me. But higher T definitely feels better than lower T.
It’s peaks and valleys with energy and psych symptoms, too. I definitely feel more ‘dopamine heavy’ or rational or whatever. Waiting on the energy with the thyroid meds. I know you’re in the adrenal fatigue boat, too, and I definitely suspect that thyroid needs work before the difficult work of restoring adrenals. It was nice I found a dr who would prescribe based on temps (knowing my rt3 is fine).
KSMan,
I just got a replacement vial from the pharmacy. At this point my testes are quite noticeably deteriorated and aching pretty badly. Can I inject 250iu DAILY until they’ve recovered? How long will that take? And testicular volume is because of sperm + T, right? So…avoid masturbation/sex???
You can go 250iu daily. I believe the 250iu Eod has been recommended because it’s usually effective and saves money.
Also, sperm/semen volume from my understanding is stored in the prostate, not the testes unless I’m mistaken.
If I’m wrong perhaps someone else can chime in…
thesite.org/your-body/mens-health/semen-facts-7278.html
"How are sperm produced?
Sperm are produced in the testes, where it takes approximately 10 weeks for a single soldier to reach maturity
Every day, a healthy adult male can produce around 70 to 150 million sperm
They are only 55 millionths of a millimeter (or 55 microns) in length
Matured sperm is stored in the epididymis â?? the coil like structure that runs across the top of each testicle
Sperm can remain in the epididymis for about two weeks before being delivered up as ejaculate, or broken down and reabsorbed by the body
What does semen contain?
Semen doesnâ??t just contain sperm, but fluids secreted by several glands during ejaculation.
When you get a hard on (and close to the point of climax) semen travels through a tube called the vas deferens and picks up a sugary substance that acts a bit like rocket fuel. Other fluids are added along the way to the urethra (the tube that runs the length of the penis).
The finished product contains approximately just 10% sperm. The rest consists of enzymes, vitamin C, calcium, protein, sodium, zinc, citric acid and fructose sugar.
How much semen comes out when you ejaculate?
You may think itâ??s enough to fill a pint glass, but the average amount is half a teaspoon. This could contain anything between 40 to 250 million of the little wrigglers.
Whatâ??s a â??normalâ?? sperm count?
There can be a massive variation in your sperm count; factors such as stress and obesity can make a huge difference. But according to The World Health Organisation, a normal sperm count should:
have a concentration of at least 20 million sperm per ml
be at least 2ml in volume
contain at least 40 million sperm in the ejaculate
contain at least 75% live sperm (itâ??s normal for up to 25 per cent to be dead); of these at least 30% should be of normal shape and form
be swimming with rapid forward movement (at least 25%)
be swimming forward, even if only sluggishly (at least 50%)
How does sperm fertilize an egg?
Once youâ??ve ejaculated, your sperm goes on an epic quest to find the egg. First they have to survive the acid in a womanâ??s vagina, which can be deadly to sperm, and swim through cervical mucus, which can feel like swimming through treacle. Then they have to travel about seven inches up the fallopian tube (they travel roughly an inch every 15 minutes, so thatâ??s quite a schlep).
A healthy sperm that swims in a fairly straight line can make it in 45 minutes, whereas it may take a straggler up to 12 hours. Only a dozen or so make it to the egg; the others die en route, get lost or trapped. The survivors work frantically to penetrate the egg, but it only takes one to fertilise it.
What happens to sperm if I donâ??t have sex or masturbate?
The body can happily cope with unused sperm, with no impact on fertility or sex drive. If it doesnâ??t come out in a wet dream the body will absorb what it doesnâ??t use or need."
Short term 250iu ED, then 250iu EOD will be good.
Testes will stop aching in a few days. Just relax and things will be good if hCG is good.
Thanks for the assurance.
Things have improved only minimally. One of my testicles is stuck halfway descended and this is painful.
I’m sure you’re right about the HCG but I’m wondering why all my HCG loses potency so quickly. The only two things I can think of are damage from being shaken in the car ride or the fact that the pharmacy gives it with the vial in a pill container and I’ve kept mine in the pill container in the fridge as a sort-of secondary container but getting the vial out involves tilting it and I’m just wondering if this wiggle room would ruin it.
The fridge is at 35 degrees.
I don’t know what else to think of.
Your handling and storage of hCG seems flawless.
