23 Year Old, Low T Levels

Thanks Mightymouse. So after you started the dessicated thyroid, your thyroid levels improved? What were your T3 and T4 levels before and after?

I see your E2 is a lot higher than mine. Mine is very low.

EDIT: I found your old thread. Your old numbers were indeed very similar to mine, including E2.

When did you start the dessicated thyroid and what dosage does one take?

I started taking DT towards the end of July. I worked my way up to 4 grains and then found out that was too much as I ft3&4 levels were off the charts! So I’ve been on 2 grains since November and have purchased a thyroid panel which I’ll be getting done Monday probably. I’m thinking levels may be slightly lower than they should and will up just a bit if so.

If possible I recommend finding a doc who will prescribe you it and not live and die by the TSH. I’m self medicating and screwed up at first by taking so much.

Cool thanks. I don’t think I realized DT was a prescription. I’m seeing my main doctor for a physical (that’s covered by insurance) and I will ask him if he has any recommendations for doctors in my area. He’s a younger guy (early 30’s) so perhaps he’s more recent on these types of treatments and is more understanding.

Well I saw my main doctor, he agreed it’s unusual (duh). He referred me to the endo in his clinic. I expressed concern that I want someone who is younger and more up to date on research, and more open-minded. He assured me that this endo is these things.

I’m seeing him today so I will let you know how it goes.
