So my first post here, I’ve had a blood test done as the doctor stated, not changing either my diet (which as a lifter is pretty testosterone boosting) or exercise regime. My blood tests have come back pretty low i.e 12.6 first thing in the morning, yet my gp will not order any of the shbg etc other tests to get a true picture) further he keeps stating 12.6 isn’t a problem and “well within normal range.”
Despite horrible hot flushes where I drip for ten minutes, inability to sleep properly, no morning wood (ever), no sex drive, lethargy and loss of muscle tone and fat redistribution. I am at a loss do you guys have any relevant articles from decent journals that explore a normal 21 year old’s levels?

Read and re-read all the stickies here. A ton of great info there by knowledgeable individuals who were generous enough to take the time to contribute. Do you have any idea what else your gp tested? Ask his office for a copy. Most gp’s I know have zero clue about male hormones outside of whether something is within range or outside it. Great chance you need a new doc. Do you live in Phoenix? If so, increase your posts so you can pm me and I can give you the name of a doc that has a much better understanding of this area.

Thanks for the quick reply,my gp checked thyroid and glucose as well. Nope I don’t live in Phoenix, though I did for a while, I’m in the UK. Because its the NHS they will not test for any other hormones unless I’m referred to an endocrinologist, which they won’t do until they believe my levels are abnormal. My partner, 4th year medical student, knows that 12 n/mol is within the bottom 5% percentile I was just hoping someone had a reputable study I could use to back it up, or at the very least persuade my GP to delve further into my issues, because at the moment they’re pretty much ruining my life.

FIND OUT WHY BEFORE BEING STUCK ON TRT BY AN INCOMPETENT DR…
Most of cases I deal with are from uk because of the piss poor lifestyles they lead over there along with their poor eating habits. Correct the imbalances resolves the testosterone issues. Simple as that.
