Unfortunately, we don’t get to filter which reports we take. Liability is too big these days and you never want to be the one who dropped the ball.
One of the worst ones I had to do was a rape case. The lady was with her husband when she made the report. She played strip poker and got slutty with another dude in a hotel during a girls’ night out. That’s called shame and regret. Not rape.
Her own friend was the star witness about her behavior.
I’m convinced AB is legit nuts. The Patriots think they have Randy Moss redux, but I disagree.
True that BB has no conscience when it comes to the players -they’re just pieces on a board to him. A set of skills which may or may not be still useful. Which is why he’s the greatest GM of all time. Notice I did not say the greatest coach of all time…(that’s a Giants’ fan’s perspective), but definitely the luckiest.
add: I think Mayock was AB’s nightmare; never heard of him before, but I think the Raiders are now in good hands
I disagree. I legit think he has made some strong bonds, but he has an ability to compartmentalize his emotions as a coach/attachment to players, to the business of being the GM and winning games.
They are pieces on a board to him in one aspect, but they mean a lot more to him than that. Hearing how ex-players talk about him is very endearing and hearing what he does outside of the spot light and away from football is pretty damn surprising. I get the image he has outside of New England and I also get marketing - but Bill is a lot more complex than a lot of the sports media make him out to be…
I wouldn’t doubt it if he doesn’t work out up here
That’s all coach Bill Belichick would offer in regards to Brown in his Wednesday presser. A tense atmosphere, Belichick was bombarded with AB questions and cut his presser short.
I heard something on ESPN regarding the sexual assault stuff. Someone who supposedly knows Brown said Antonio Brown would never do such a thing. But he wasn’t sure about AB. He said when Brown “got paid” he changed.
I have no opinion on the assault charges, given the whole scene that surrounds professional athletes. But wrt that “someone”, I will just say that every time some serial killer is outed, you will always find that neighbor who says -gee, he was quiet, polite to me, and seemed like such a nice guy…I’m just so shocked by this/I just can’t believe he did all this!
No doubt. We had BTK - Bind, Torture, Kill. He got away with it until he got a conscience or got bored and started sending the police evidence from the crime scenes. By the time they got him, he had a family, was a deacon at his church, and worked for the city animal control. Dude snuck away from a Boy Scout campout where he was one of the leaders to go kill someone.
That is one awesome, awesome story. Will be re-telling for sure.
All the books, TV shows, movies (where the writers do pretty diligent research imo) portray these guys as ultimately needing “glory” from their deeds. So when the thrill of the kill is gone, what’s left but to get caught and to bask in the “glory”?
After living in New England for over a decade, I can understand why people don’t like Patriots fans. I don’t particularly like anyone who obnoxiously wraps much of their identity up into a sports team they aren’t a part of, especially if I have to interact with them in some capacity. There just seems to be so many of them here. Almost like something is emboldening them, even making them smug…
or they paid luck so he doesn’t come back ripping the league.
I’ve heard a lot of league officials are deathly afraid of players coming back to talk about their concussion issues, especially star quarterbacks.
Frankly, I don’t know how anyone can still play this sport. Its so cutthroat, only the owners make it out well.
Even if you get a solid 5 years playing time, make tons of money ,the odds of you have permanent brain damage are so fucking high then you add in all the guys that end up with brain damage that barely survive 3 years in the league, or any years at all.
They’re o-line is thin right now … when they play a good pass rush they’ll be exposed unless they get healthy … especially later in the year … dolphins aren’t exactly a top tier team …
That being said their defense looked damn good, their run and pass games are fire I just hope Gotskowski (kicker) doesn’t have a repeat of today in a close game … he left 5 points in the field man - in a close game that’s be crucial
Bell’s stat line supports my opinion of running backs who think they’re God’s gift to the NFL. Dude, you’re good, but your success is largely dependent on your O line and other offensive weapons.
He might lose money on future contracts by playing for the Jets.
