2019 NFL Thread

@anon50325502 thanks for sending “the drops” to KC. FFS, this is the worst start to a game I’ve ever seen.

The Browns would be up 14-0 at the very least in this debacle.

I’m starting to gear up for my third horse in the Super Bowl race, Aaron Rodgers (Chiefs are 1, Brees was 2).

I didn’t plan on drinking a whole bottle of Crown Royal, but it’s not looking good.

You guys just got a nice bounce!

@greenboy, the Chiefs/Texans game has provided 7 scores (6 touchdowns) in less than 25 minutes. Just wanted to point out the other end of the spectrum.

You mean O’Brien coaching like his head got bounced, and he’s concussed? LMAO.

It’s hard to play with a lead.

Who game plans for getting way ahead early?

There are ZERO reasons for a 4th and 3 to go fake punt from your 30ish yard line when you have a lead. ZERO.

I assume you just stick to your normal play calling until it gets late enough to run, run run punt to victory.

I mean unless you are a Chiefs fan.

What a half!

I don’t really have horse in this race but would love to see Andy Reid do well.

Let’s not forget this same head was leading 21-0, had the ball at the KC 13, 4th and 1, goes for a field goal. A concussion in between these two decisions is the only explanation.

I’ve become a Chiefs fan because they’re the closest team to my state. After them, I get sucked into pulling for good competitors and sports stories. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the Titans run.

I just feel like a team has a small window for success and I don’t want to see the Chiefs squander theirs. Look at the Rams from last year to this year. Night and day.

Yep. The league always makes adjustments. Lamar Jackson will not be running rough shod over everyone next year. Just like Mahomes, even factoring in his injury, did not throw another 50 TDs this season.

yeah, it was on in the background. Still kinda boring though. I mean little flick passes for touchdowns. It seems like no one throws the ball down the field anymore like they used to. Brady/Belichick screen pass gameplay has taken over the entire league (or was that adopted from the college game?) either way I find it boring.

Also, really what is the point of a 2 min warning other than to give more time for commercials and standing around? Stupid. And who is this Chiefs QB? Seems like after Brady, Brees, and Rogers the league is going to have a really hard time marketing some of these new guys cuz this Mamoa guy does not seem very middle America friendly but what do I know.

Anyways, for reference there was a 6-1 ass ripping today in the Premier League. Let me translate that for you: 42-7

Watching game on mute, did 26 of chiefs get an unsportsman like for that? The other guy tackled him after the play then threw the ball and 26 got the penalty?

Hey, I’m a fan of scoring in futbol. I appreciate the athleticism and skill, but it’s not one of my sports. Maybe it’s because I didn’t play soccer past 2nd grade?

Mahomes was league MVP last year. His opponent, Watson, is no slouch (although he’s more all around athlete than a thrower).

In regards to short passes - that’s half circumstance (less than 40 yards to the end zone) and half reality. You can’t throw it 40 yards down the field every play.

Just a heads up - don’t watch the Titans. Their QB has thrown for less than 100 yards in each of their last two games and they’ve won.

He dropped the ball in front of the guy who tried to tackle him - “taunting”

I used to like this sport in the late 90s early 2000s. The last team I enjoyed watching was Brady’s team with Moss on it even though I hate the Patriots. I mean, Brady was throwing bombs like It was nothing, that was fun to watch.

But these little short flick passes everyone does now, and with little to no big hits like before… you gotta admit that this sport has lost a lot of its luster, no? People seem to hang on to it with fantasy and gambling for the most part.

You’re not wrong, but I still enjoy it.

The exciting play is to go deep. The smart play is to take the check down for 5 yards.

Wish they’d do what I used to do in Madden:

on 4th and log drop all the way back almost to your own end zone and then hail mary it down the field. Laugh, but this used to work until the developers got serious with the whole video game as a simulation aspect.

edit: Rogers is the only one that can still do this, when he’s gone the league is dead.
