Don’t remind me. Ironically it’s half time and am at the game.
Glad you see you kept your tickets.
Didn’t keep them. The tickets we used was given to my wife from the owner of the company she works for.
Jacoby Brissett is a real starter. The Colts are a terrible organization but Colts fans have absolutely no idea how lucky they are to go from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck to Jacoby Brissett. Some organizations go through dozens of quarterbacks before they find even a halfway decent one.
Yeah he is really starting to develop into something.
As a Giants fan, I keep thinking Daniel Jones looks good (offensive line cannot pass protect, only decent at run blocking), but his results since TB have been so meh that I’ve been wondering if I’m just being a homer…
…then Sam Darnold, who is almost universally highly regarded, has this dumpster fire of a first half vs. NE; Jones looked so much better against NE w/o Barkley or Engram or Shepherd.
edit to add: dumpster fire in 2nd half as well
I wonder if the NFL will ever mix up the divisions. The Pats have had a free pass to the playoffs for over a decade. Dolphins, Jets, and Bills? I haven’t heard anything about the Bills since the early 90s and I’ve never heard about the Dolphins or Jets making a run.
The Pats winning percentage outside of their division is roughly the same as within their division:
Historically speaking it wouldn’t have made much a difference what division they played in … all else being equal.
That being said, I’d like to see them among more “competitive” teams for sure and really don’t have an issue with your proposition.
I felt bad for the Jets fans last night.
as a pats fan, I never feel bad for Jets fans
as a human being, I never feel bad for Jets fans
As a Pats fan, I don’t think you have the ability to empathize with people who haven’t seen championships. If you’re a Celtics/Bruins/Red Sox fan as well, I know for a fact you don’t. You may have in the past, when your teams were shitty, but any sense of underdog-ness is literally extinct for any Boston fans now.
And this is from a Mets/Jets/Knicks/Islanders fan, not from the crosstown teams. It’s also out of pure, raw, unfiltered envy for your teams success, and the coach you have who was twice named Jets HC and never actually coached a game for us. Best organization in sports.
And yes, it was humiliating. Especially because our team, despite not being very good, is so much better than our garbage coach would have people believe.
Makes you feel any better most people prior to the game thought it was going to within a score or so … thought the Jets d was going to get see Brady … there IS respect there … I was just busting chops
Part of that is misleading. The Pats are healthier and less injured to play the rest of the league because they can rest and coast for their 6 garbage level conference games per year. Other teams actually have competition in their conference.
That’s some interesting mental gymnastics homie … you’ll have to convince me the pats aren’t consistently as battered and bruised as teams in more “competitive” divisions.
For instance, going off recent memory, they routinely have key guys on all sides of the ball hurt, missing weeks, etc - including other than skill positions…
Also, you’ll have to convince me they rest their “starters” or are “better rested” … otherwise you’re just trying to make yourself feel better…
Well, they lie on their injury reports. So it would be though to really dig into that data.
Common sense would dictate that you’d be healthier in any season where you have 6 guaranteed walk across games.
Spikes, Talib say Patriots file false injury reports - ProFootballTalk
Can you prove this? or is this speculation?
Then why would you make the assertion if you can’t prove it?
lol … you’re assuming those guys can’t hurt people? You started with “common sense” … what followed was anything but … also, last I checked the Bills were close to the top of the league my man.
Also, last I checked, every one of those players on the other teams are among the best in the sport. Check your premise; you’re making no sense to make a point you can’t prove.
EDIT: You also seem to be assuming the Pats aren’t giving each and every team the best game they can. Everything I see come out of Belichick indicates the exact opposite … if you’re not playing your best, he’ll replace you with someone who will … that’s the culture and mantra of the team.
Did you see the link? It was two former Patriots alleging the patriots lied about their own personal injuries. What possible gain would they get out making that kind of thing up?
When you look up the word “competitive”, there’s going to be a video of Tom Brady screaming his head off at the referee penalizing him for intentional grounding, in the 2nd half of a game where the Pats are ahead by twenty something points, and the opposing Jets have not even come close to sniffing at a field goal, forget touchdown.
I’m not a Pats fan, but I don’t think this is true. Is there any evidence that teams playing the Dolphins, Cardinals, Bengals, Jets, Browns, etc… have fewer in-game injuries than teams playing the Saints, 49ers, Packers, etc…? While the latter “teams” may be better, the former group still has strong, fast, skilled athletes as capable of inflicting as much harm as anybody.
