There was some bad calls but i place more of the blame on Eli for throwing the ball away on the 3rd and goal from the 1 there at the end. They should have ran again anyways but eli should have know to just go down instead of throw ball away and stop the clock. Would have burned another 35 and put it under a minute for Dallas to go 80 instead of min30. Would dal have scored anyway against ny prevent probably but would have been alot tougher with less time.

Well, we have all found something we can agree on in these football threads. There are some idiotic post in them.

We don’t agree with who is making them, but we agree that they are there.

I didn’t see the game, saw the pass and stats. I sure hope they go ahead and stick with Manziel to see what they have with him.

Yes I am sure that they will have to for awhile.

Then pick another QB in the first round next year…again

Had McCown not gotten hurt it woulda been a long day for the Jets def. Not sure if it was opening day jitters. They looked horrible. The O was steady & that’s all you can really ask for. The entire AFC East is going to be a damn good race.

Manziel is just not comfortable looking. In or out of the pocket. Outside of his td pass, which Cro bit on hard, he never found a groove. As much as I enjoyed his college career, he is not a NFL qb. Period.

Yeah, that was extremely odd. I didn’t mind the pass per se, but if there isn’t a high % throw to be made, why wouldn’t you take a sack? That 35 or so seconds off the clock would have been HUGE.

Eli screwed up at the end. Refs screwed up on the PI for a 4 point swing but other than that I thought the game was pretty solidly called. Offense for the Giants was abysmal for the most part, but the defense got soft at the end. I don’t really know what they were doing but it looked like they went in to the old school prevent that only prevents winning.

PC and Hauschka both said it was a failed kick, not supposed to be onside. Interesting…

With a defense like Seattle’s the onside kick is an interesting idea.

If you don’t recover it, you just have to keep them out of the endzone on a short field. Even if you give up the field goal you have one of the best kickers in the league to tie it up and put you into the sudden death portion of OT.

IF you recover it, automatically into sudden death where if you can kick a field goal you win. It was interesting and not at all a stupid decision. Didn’t work out but that doesn’t mean it was dumb.

Yeah, that’s called CYA

I am excited and very interested in how the next few weeks play out for the Cowboys. There has been talk about what seperates average qbs and elite ones in these threads. There has also been talk about how after Dez the Cowboys reveiver talent falls off considerably. I wonder what the talk will be if The Cowboys are able to still win these next 4-5 games without one of the best receivers and a “poor” running game? Then get Hardy, Dez, McClain, and Gregory +10-15#s(because all he is going to be doing is meetings and weight room) back.

That last drive last night by Romo was incredible.

so Romo lost Dez, but can still lean on his elite Oline, and first ballet HOF TE? I’ll still say it, put Andy Dolton back there and nothing changes…

I don’t have anything bad to say about Romo, but I think you need to put that game into perspective. The Giants haven’t exactly been dominant lately and anytime you win with a -3 turnover differential chances are the other team contributed to your win, too. The leading receiver for Dallas was a RB and two of Romo’s three TD’s were to Witten.

Yeah to take the sack in that situation would be something i would expect mariota and Winston to understand but i guess not a 12 year 2 time sb winning qb?
How many more years is Coughlin under contract for? Seems like he’s always on the hot seat but i suppose winning a sb every now and then buys you a little time.

Yeah, I think I am just fine on how I view last nights win. I knew the Giants were in some trouble on the defensive side of the ball. I knew they had some potential for big plays on offense even with Cruz out. I also recognize that they are a long time divisional opponent who pretty much always plays us tough.

Our team contributed to them even being in the game because of the 17 points we gave them on turnovers.

[quote]

And another of his TD’s was to a different TE.
One of those TD’s to Witten was at the end of a drive that Romo led them down the field 78 yds with no timeouts 135 left on the clock and without Dez.

What is the point of your post? What is it that you think I should be taking away from last nights game and winning drive?

Please give me your analysis of last nights game. Give me 4 points you feel as a Cowboy fan I should take away from last nights game that will allow me to put that win in the right perspective.
