Winston & Mariotta are closer then most think. Most say it’s a coin toss & the combine will separate one of the two. If Winston is number 1, then Mariotta falls towards the Jets. Now the question becomes what is Chip willing to give up? Picks, & I mean all picks. Or… throw McCoy in w/the Eagles pick?

At this point all we can do is ponder & wish.
Well its not Manning and Ryan Leaf, but it could be.

Sorry man but Winston is going to be Johnny Football 2.0 or Jamarcus Russell 2.0

If he couldnt stay in line in college, shit you give him millions he is going to make it rain.
I’m not talking about if he is a success or a failure. All I am saying is IF he goes #1, Mariotta will fall to at least 6. If the Eagles want him bad enough, what are they willing to give up.

Damn, I bet it’s going to be real low. 10?

I think if Tampa gets the right offer they’ll trade down and take Hundley.

Okay good point.

It has been discussed before that College QB going to his College coach.

Has that actually ever happened?

Do they have negative numbers?

Is 1 an option?

FWIW, Winston got admitted to Stanford to play football.

I think he’s score right around average for a QB. Mid-20s.

Edit: If they had a Wonderlic that measured maturity, he’s score a negative.

I could be wrong, Sherman went to Stanford and if I didn’t know that, from some of his early interviews I would have thought he was an idiot.

I am going to adjust my prediction to 11, I think he will get an 11 on the test.

Huge difference between being book smart, common sense smart, & just being plain ol immature.

Stanford’s official line is that they won’t relax admission standards for athletes. Which, technically is true. Their admission standards are 3.0 GPA and 1000SAT or 23 ACT. It’s just that, unless you’re playing a sport, there is no one with a 3.0 and 23 ACT who would ever have any chance of being admitted.

Possibly, but he does have one thing over Manziel, at least Winston has NFL caliber talent and played in a pro-style system.

Winston is also not known to be a drunk.
He has a legit NFL/MLB arm.
He weights more than 200lbs.

Winston is a knucklehead who needs to mature, manziel is a spoiled douche who needs ass beating and an arena league contract.

Lack of injury history and good size was a good one that you mentioned that I forgot.

manziel is a douchey Colt McCoy with a drinking problem. Backup QB at best.
vs.
Winston is andrew luck with a 50pt lower IQ. Legit Potential.

I always think about how I was at Jameis Winston’s Age. If I had winston’s talent coupled with the knucklehead shit I was doing at that age I probably would have become Mr Irevalent (Minus the rape allegations). But I matured pretty quickly, I wonder how much the media blows his antics out of proportion.

I like Winston as a player but the major bust potential is definitely strong with him. He does remind me of a Brett Favre a lot though.

Winston does not throw a tight spiral.

I would draft him though if I needed a QB
mbdix wrote:

And Johnny Manziel cant go through simple read progressions. Far bigger deal.

or throw a tight spiral
or take a hit
or out run a D lineman
or play in the nfl
