2014 NFL Draft

Not sure what I think about Pittsburgh picking Shazier. We don’t typically start linebackers in their first year and I think Dennard had to have been an improvement immediately over William Gay. But if he improves our pass rush by somehow starting or playing on 3rd downs consistently, our backfield will look better than it is if the qb is getting sacked or hurried. I just hope we get a stud interior d-lineman.

I thought it was a strange pick. Doesn’t Pittsburgh need CB’s?

They do and badly. But if they pick up a quality d-lineman that can rush the qb and start getting more hits and pressure on the qb then the db’s won’t look as bad as they are. Shazier supposedly ran a 4.36 so maybe the Steelers got tired of not being able to cover anyone’s TE and wanted to rectify this. With that speed maybe LeBeau can convert him to DB. Haha.

He is a tackling machine

Miami made a safe pick, but I wish they would have tried to trade down. I think they would have still got him.

I like Martin, smart, strong, and has a mean streak. Our O-line is looking good now and for a long time, and I understand the pick. I would have taken Manziel.

They could have drafted Jerry Ricecake and it still wouldnt matter. EJ manuel is still the ome throwing the ball. Should have got mack. or stayed at nine for a tackle to help the run game. Unless they take a Delorian back in time to draft Mr. Perfect so he can throw himself the ball recievers are a waste. Looks like another decade of paper bag over the head shame. [/quote]

I agree that was a dumb move by the Bills

Either QB still needs a good OL.

So you want to put a friendly wager on Manziel?

lol.

Because this draft is loaded with QBs, right?

A guy like Watkins comes out very rarely. Grab him. And those guys always go high. You can get a future HOF QB in rounds 2 or lower. It’s not like Andrew Luck was on the board and there was a clear #1 QB!

Move up four spots give up next year’s 1st round pick and a late round this year. For a receiver in a draft loaded with good recievers. It was a bad move.

I agree. They have spent the draft pick and money for Manual. To not give him weapons and people to make him successful is setting him up for failure.

Manziel will not make it the full 16 games this year if he is a day one starter.

Yall are much higher on Watkins than I am. Is he a very good receiver, yeah. But I think this draft was loaded with receivers that can be just as good if not better. To me the receiver position was loaded with guys this year that are really good but almost interchangeable with their skillsets and size, Watkins included. No Megatron’s or Green’s but a lot of Desean Jackson’s if that makes sense.

Well, to make room for Watkins, the Bills just traded S. Johnson to the 49r’s. Crabtree, Boldin, Davis, & now Johnson. That’s stealthy!

I dont know. Most of the experts put him as the best player in the draft period. It was him then the next level down was all the other WR.

Maybe I am wrong but that just seems like an awful fucking idea on the Bills part. Two broke down running backs, a rookie receiver, a questionable at times QB, and an TE (who is probably the best player on the offense currently).
