Watkins reminds me a little of Chris Carter. You see him catch a ball and it’s all fingers and he brings it back to his body lightning quick. Blue chipper imo.
I think this draft is actually pretty deep at receiver. I look at the list and see probably 15 guys that I think could make an impact early, if they fall in the right system, because outside Mike Evans, they are pretty small.

If I’m the Lions I’m doing everything in my power to move up to grab Sammy Watkins. That kid will be as good as AJ Green. With Watkins teamed up with Johnson, Detriot would be scary.
If Watkins goes to CLE, that’s even scarier. Take a look:
They were talking again on ESPN about Atlanta is in serious consideration to move up to number one to pick Clowney. I wonder what Pat thinks about this.

But what do they give up to get that spot?

Clinton-Dix is going to be a solid player for 12 years for any team lucky enough to pick him.
Because Detroit had a problem with scoring last year?
Think “Greatest Show on Turf Part II”. They can be like the Rams, but of course they don’t have Faulk.

Per ESPN, the neighborhood would be 2014 #1, #2, #3 plus their 2015 #1 to move up from 6-spot to the top.
Ridiculous price no question, but Synder/WAS gave up three #1’s plus more to move up from 6th to 2nd that year.

YES.
Watkins is the real deal. Very solid, safe pick.
Think AJ Green with a better head.
Watkins is a very good player, but I wouldn’t say he’s in the category of johnson, green or even jones as wr prospects. He doesn’t have elite height (6’1") and he has relatively short arms (32" arm length). That being said, he is on par with another highly regarded wr prospect in justin blackmon. Hopefully without all the off-field issues.
As a cowboy fan, I just hope that they don’t pick jernigan at 16 (where a lot of mocks have him going). I’m also not a huge fan of dix.

There is no way they will take Jernigan with the 16th. They will be going defensive line in the later rounds.

Now you’re going too far with someone who hasn’t yet logged an NFL down.
Keep in mind, AJ is easily on ‘top-10-of-all-time’ trajectory.

Well, of course this is all speculation at this point. But remember seeing Green play in college and I’ve seen this kid too. This kid deserves the praise he gets. Sure, he’s a couple inches short. Big deal. He is big (211 pounds at 6’1") and he can do 2 things: straight up fly and he has got A+ hands and ball skills.

1 - Another rumor that HOU and ATL have worked out a deal for the #1 spot.
2 - Another chance to work film guru Greg Cosell’s insight into these threads
"One of the more notable advocates for bringing Manziel to St. Louis has been NFL Films guru Greg Cosell. In an appearance for a CBS Sports video, Cosell suggested that the Rams should take the QB with the second pick of the draft.
Why did Cosell suggest this? Learn and adapt from their piers in the NFC West: control the time, tone and tempo of a game with a tough defense and a heavy dose of running the ball, throw in a quarterback who can make plays, big plays down field, to put points on the board. The 49ers and Seahawks don’t throw the ball an awful lot, but when they do, their quarterbacks are both dynamic playmakers who can work outside the pocket as well as they can inside of it.
“Johnny Manziel fits this whole philosophy of matching up in the NFC West. You have to beat them at their own game.”
Remember that last quote; it’s an important part of the story here…"
This makes sense… but you almost the Rams could trade down and get him much, much lower than #2. I think it makes sense, but his value is not a #2 pick.

Agreed I want Donald.
