2014 NFL Draft

Fucking Flutie Dude! You’re comparing Manziel to Doug Flutie!

At this point, it’s a fair enough comparison. Do you not remember how great Flutie was at Boston College? He did win a Heisman, so it’s not like anyone’s comparing Manziel to some garbage player.

I’m a Vikes fan and I hope we draft Manziel if he’s there. But I’d be happy with Bortles or Bridgewater. I’d even be happy if they traded down for more picks if they felt they could snag a LB and a QB in the first round.

Its a little before you guys time, but the comparison are actually spot on in regards to how they played on the field. However Flutie could not make it in the Pro game, not due to lack of trying.

No it is not. Flutie was a player that almost did not get drafted in the NFL. At a time when no ‘shorter’ qbs would even be considered for a starting job. Flutie could not make all the throws. And was not even close as athletic.

Manziel is going to get drafted in the 1st two rounds. Going into a league that has multiple ‘shorter’ qbs doing well. Manziel can make every throw. And is head and shoulders above Flutie in athleticism. Manziel is going to get an opportunity to start in the NFL.

He was alright on the Chargers. He was on some pretty shitty Chargers teams.

If I’m the Lions I’m doing everything in my power to move up to grab Sammy Watkins. That kid will be as good as AJ Green. With Watkins teamed up with Johnson, Detriot would be scary.

Clinton-Dix is going to be a solid player for 12 years for any team lucky enough to pick him.

Flutie was the shortest QB ever to make the pro bowl. The Bills fucked that guy after he took them to the playoffs they benched him for the playoff game. I always liked Flutie. That guy had heart.

So who is going number 1?

Where does Johnny Football end up?
Rehab and a few turns through the reality TV circuit.
You think he’ll be drinking buddies with Ryan Leaf?

Because Detroit had a problem with scoring last year?

Exactly. BUT he still could never take a team on his back.

I wonder what the over under is on the age that Manziel makes it rain like PacMan Jones?

Manziel’s body will let him down in 3 seasons. He was constantly getting bummed up in college and his body will just not be able to withstand the punishment of an NFL season.

Also, he has proven time and time again that he has a propensity to not go through his reads, panic, bail out of the pocket and throw jump balls. Looks spectacular but most of his spectacular plays came on messes that he created himself in the first place. Unless you are throwing to Calvin Johnson, the put it up and pray approach does not work in the NFL. If the Browns decide to pass on him it would only make sense for the Cowboys to get him because they seem to have a propensity for sucking up the Browns rejects at QB the past year.

This ^ exactly.

As far as the Cowboys it is not going to happen. Romo is under contract and there is no room for a 1st round QB.

I hope the Browns draft Manziel. It’ll set them back another three years which is fine by me. AFC North is not a safe place for QB’s.

I can just see Suggs breaking JF in half.

Is Sammy Watkins the most talented WR to come out in a while?

Is Jake Mathews the safest 1st round pick this year?

O yeah, I know they won’t take him. I am still loaded up over the Weeden thing though and the shot couldn’t be helped. This draft is to deep at QB, not in the sense that it is super talented just that you have probably 8 guys who really have very little talent gap, to draft a QB early. You’ve got Manziel, Bridgewater, Bortles, McCarron, Garoppolo, Carr, and maybe Mettenberger, Savage, Thomas, Murray, or Boyd all with big glaring holes but also big strong points.

As far as Mathews, possibly as far as getting a sure fire talent, but for job security, nope. That would be Clowney because boom or bust everyone thinks you should have taken him anyway.

Watkins reminds me a little of Chris Carter. You see him catch a ball and it’s all fingers and he brings it back to his body lightning quick. Blue chipper imo.

Pittsburgh needs a CB,WO,DL and ILB in that order but I wouldn’t be shocked if they picked Ebron if he’s still there at #15.
