So true my man.
They’ve won two SB’s with this mentality but it won’t work a third time.

Pittsburgh needs OL. Period. With the injuries they’ve had to live through their OL coach deserves a ton of credit.
The Owner is hinting at wanting to run the ball more but as SN mentioned above the leauge is a changin’. It almost seems Rooney wants the team to mimic(if that’s the right term) the Texans or maybe San Fran. Big dominate OL, dominate running back and a safe but make a few HUGE plays a game QB and win it close by eating up the clock. The Bus left the station sir, literally six years ago. I prefer the old style of Steeler football but it’s time to move on. Having a road grater like Colon go down two years in a row hurt alot as well. Scott and Kemo were just plain awfull but will probably be back which sickens me.
Then I would like to see a NT picked to replace big snack. Ziggy could play NT but I don’t think he’s big(fat) enough. McClendon at NT is another option there but still not ideal.
RB is stacked, no concerns there at all.
They have a great young crop of recievers, that’s the future Mr.Rooney like it or not.
OLB: Worilds is meh so far, third stringer Carter was hurt so not really sure what to expect from him.
I would love to see them draft a crazy ass mofo LB with a chip on his shoulder to shake things up. Someone who’s crazy about football and a real character but can be coached up and just wants a chance, a real fucking nutjob the fans could embrace.
I watched a little of what I think it was the east/west shrine game and really liked a Sparten player and right away saw him at NT for the Steelers, can’t remember the name of the guy though.
If any of you colledge guys know who I’m talking about or have any thoughts on a NT prospect they like post your thoughts I’d appreciate it.
What have you heard about Weeden that has him in trouble?

Jim Miller, Pat Kirwin and Tim Ryan all have been critical of him and they are at the Senior bowl. Has made some bad decisions and his arm strength is not very good.
I am sold on Jim Miller as a scout on QB’s for sure. Last year he was all over TJ Yates in the combine and senior bowl. Guy knows what he is talking about. I would not trust an objective opinion from anybody from Oklahoma on the kid if you know what I mean.
Pittsburg could look at Cordy Glenn, versatile and big. Corners need work, they’re all capable, but not coverage monsters. There are a few LB’s for later, one out of SDSU and another out of TCU.
Amukamura wasn’t elite level talent, neither is Alfonso. But both would improve Pitts CB’s. Physical won’t beat desean jackson in a footrace. They may beat up desean jackson though. Nnamdi asomugha wasn’t to speedy either.
I havn’t seen that “special” from Michael Brockers, but some people have him as high as top ten. Reminds me of Glenn Dorsey and tyson jackson (both top 5 picks for KC, combined 6 sacks in 8 seasons between them or something), but I want to see highlights of him vs Alabama. Anyone remember Amobi Okoye?
Upshaw and hightower are both nice LB’s, Hightower doesn’t attack the hole though and often waits. Great looking blitzer. Sorry to say, Vontaze Burfict looks dynamic.

Well I should, I spend enough time studying teams. Work has been getting in the way of my hobby damnit.
Speaking of teams, here’s an artists take on what NFL Logos should look like. Kind of cool.

The idea(read the about page) is pretty cool, and there’s a few of the logos that I would actually love to see now in the ‘modernized’ NFL, so that’s a testament to his work.
That said, most of them would just feel super out of place, whether or not that is because the current ones are better is clearly a subjective matter.
There’s also something to be said about helmet space, I don’t see many of his pieces fitting properly on helmets(or being visible enough text wise), they could be excellent as center field/endzone designs though.

I kind of like the old school feel, but as a Texan, both the Texas teams suck.

I agree with you. I really appreciated his committment to the throw-back aspect of each logo, though I think he maybe went back to the “family crest” or “shield” look a little too much. Also, the Raiders shield just shouldn’t be changed. It’s already straight forward and classic.
The Lions logo is badass, it reminds me of Lowenbrau, and there’s not a damn thing wrong with that.
I remember seeing a Denver Broncos helmet from way back in the day that had that horse on it. But I see what you mean as far as trying to get those logos on helmets in general. The San Diego example being one of the bigger offenders, as well as the New York Giants.

Capturing this quote from you, after all this time, has made my day. You wrote it, you’re admitting it, and now the healing process can begin and you can find an NFC North team to support and live out the rest of your days much less frustrated.

I like Melvin Ingram. The Rams should take Trent Richardson if they don’t trade, but maybe the scouts have a late round rb pegged out, and Matt Kalil has been hyped as long as Luck. I don’t think the Bucs take Morris Claiborne because he doesn’t seem like a Cover-2 corner, more of an athlete. Maybe Alfonso Dennard, who played Alston Jeffery real hard in the bowl game, but at 5? I don’t like the other corner, Dre Kirkpatrick, as a top ten pick.
Robby Griffin has a loose head, can get beat up.
I’m betting the Rams trade out of the 2 spot. I don’t think this means they couldn’t still get Richardson though.

Kanada: since you mentioned Alfonzo Dennard, I must say that I’m a huge fan of his, and when he is healthy, I think he is a better corner than Prince Amukamara, his Nebraska teammate who was drafted in the first round by the Giants last year.
But I just read earlier today that Dennard will not be playing in the Senior Bowl this weekend because of an injured hip flexor, and apparently he was not having a good week of practice before that. One of the experts think his draft stock is gonna take a big hit, which would be disappointing to me as a fan. I think some mock drafts had Dennard as a mid to late first rounder before this week, so no way he gets snagged as high as #5. But I think if he drops to the late first round or even second, some team is gong to get a steal.
When healthy, he covers really damn well and is physical.
Right in time for the Cowboys pick.
I think I actually saw Dennard going to the 'Boys in one mock draft.
I have the Mocks to many of them, I have found that only a few guys are plugged in and know how teams draft and what is available.
We will go all D this draft for sure in early rounds, maybe depth in later.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see the Boys go with Upshaw at #14.

Could be, but I think they will go with secondary, and then DL. The did draft Carter last year to replace Brady James.

Agreed, at 260 Upshaw can play both DL and LB and I’m betting he blows up at the combine. You know how Jerry loves combine heros.

True of the past, but I really think he will listen to Garret, he did draft a OL last year which he has never done.
That kid from Arkansas the LB weird last name he is 6’5" and 260, probably a better fit for.
