I attend UK and I fucking hate them and their piece of shit fans. I grew up a UL fan and remain one, so needless to say I’ll be rooting for them.
Let’s talk seeding; how the fucking fuck did UNC and their 2 wins against the rpi top-50 get a 2 seed?
It is very sad that you hate the school. So why are you attending UK instead of U of L? Did you not get in because your SAT scores were too high?
I hated UK fans when I was a student. However, the big blue idiots give the team an advantage on road games and in tournaments.

I actually had a full ride anywhere in the state of Kentucky as an undergrad. Being a National Merit Finalist has its advantages, it would seem.
I went to UK because I wanted to get away from my bubble of an existence in Louisville. But then again, as I am not an athlete it makes little sense for me to choose my college as if I were.
I hate UK fans because they are overwhelmingly classless, redneck, racist, etc etc.
Fuck UL’s performance today. They looked like a bunch of scrubs and got beat by a decidedly worse team.
Cute link too. I won’t click it, but I assume it’s about Karen Sypher. Don’t care. He’s paid to coach basketball.
The great disappointment of Louisville. I think that tournament fans everywhere would be happier if UofL just played in the N.I.T. That is where they usually end up.
Harsh words for UK fans. The same words could be said for many SEC fans.
It is the equivalent of saying that UK students are over-simplistic, prejudice, naive, etc.
If you miss out on attending the games as an undergrad because of your negative demeanor, you will miss a great experience. Lower arena seats are great and of course, the lower the better. The players constantly talk trash to each other.
In comparison, Big 12 games were boring. The players were too polite.
Today should be interesting. The Seminoles should be able to beat the Aggies. We will see.
Where they usually end up? HAHAHAHAHA. UK has an NIT more recently than UL. You’re trying really hard to remove any doubt that you are a homer.
I would agree, lots of SEC fans are like that. That doesn’t mean UK fans aren’t the worst, and the obsession with UK is absurd. And after being at UK for a good amount of time, I would agree with that assessment of the student populace.
I had fantastic lower level seats to a UK-Kansas game a few years back. Only game I’ve ever been to, and I don’t care enough to go to any others. It’s a good experience I guess, but I’m not particularly fond of attending games anywhere. I’d rather watch them on TV, personally.
My biggest upset today I guess would be Oakland over Texas. Barnes is just terrible down the stretch and I refuse to ever have them do well in my brackets.

Recently is the key word here. Louisville has been on a hot streak since they hired Patino. Before that, the team was an embarrassment. UofL is worth watching under Rick and was worth watching under Danny. After all, it is the second best team in the state.
UK: 51 tournament appearances (#1), 102 tournament wins (#1), 7 NCAA Championships (#2).
UofL: 37 tournament appearances (#5), 60 tournament wins (#6), 2 NCAA Championships (tied for #13).
Both Championships were under Crumb back in the 1980s.
Sorry make that, UK 103 tournament wins, UofL 60 tournament wins. Forgot yesterday.
You are insulting to me, the UK student population, and UK fans. Are you sure that your hatred is not caused by continually coming in second? Is this a jealousy thing?
UK fans are very polite. We expect to lose in football and we are gracious winners.
Not sure if you are still allowed to tailgate outside of Commonwealth Stadium. If you are, then that is a worthy experience too.
I agree that Texas will not make it down the stretch. Looks like I was right about Florida State beating A&M. The Big 12 is a great football conference, but weak in basketball in comparison to the ACC, SEC, Big East, or Pac 10.
So you make a ridiculous comment about NIT appearances, defend it by choosing an atypical 4-5 year stretch at the twilight of Crum’s career, but then go on to talk about all-time wins and other stats that step outside the bounds you just created? Am I getting that right?
LOL at the “little brother” argument, the classic strawman of the UK faithful. I’m purposefully insulting UK fans based on 26 years of life experience and nothing else, but I know it makes you feel superior to play that card, so go right ahead. However, I don’t care about what happened in the 1950s and I don’t even care about the championship UL won in 1986. It’s all irrelevant to the present.
If we are making sweeping statements, no, UK fans on the whole are not polite. They used to be OK in football, but going to a few bowl games turned even that crowd into a bunch of animals. Gracious winners? HA! If you had been anywhere near Commonwealth Stadium in 2007 after the UL/UK game, you’d know that is a bunch of nonsense.
I’d feel bad about this derail, but nobody is really participating in this thread anyway.
Looks like a phantom foul on Oakland killed any chance of that rally, but Texas showed their colors. I had FSU winning as well.
This has turned into a sad hijack dragging into an old rivalry. I actually like U of L. I like their fans. I love the city. But the little brother comment is accurate. U of L is a lesser school than UK, and you are there as a result.
U of L has had many more NIT appearances than UK. We are usually at the big dance, but have experienced our share of bad coaches: Sutton, Gillispie. Still, a world class basketball program. It is up there with Duke, UCLA, and UNC. U of L lost to an OVC team. Really?
26 years of life experience, but you are there as a result of good merit scores? That is an unusual story. Are you in grad school, military experience, or what? If it is military and travel, have you not experienced kindness from UK fans? I sure have.
For the present, you got St. Rick back because he sucked at the pros. He is past his prime, but still a really good college coach.
