22-2… looked like almost everyone on the team was a defensive liability at the end of the game. lol
Word.

Chalmers plays better D than Bibby, but the way Bibby was shooting they’d have to close out on him. That’s tough to do when they’re doubling James and playing Wade tightly. If was Bosh wasn’t so useless on offense last night it wouldn’t be an issue. Someone teach that douche a drop step. Post play is not that fuckin difficult. All you need is 3 basic moves.

And I can’t stand the offense(or lack of) the Heat was running. James brings it up, dribbles at the top of the key for 10 seconds runs the clock is down and shoots fade away 3’s. WTF is that? Have your fuckin PG bring the ball up and run him off screens or even post him up a little closer to the basket. They can’t deny him AND Wade the ball. I can’t even think of another team that has their small forward bring the ball up more often than their PG. It makes no sense to me.

Come to think of it, NOTHING made sense in those last 5 minutes.

Of all the things the Heat did wrong, I find it hard to pick out Chalmers as a source for criticism given that ginormous 3 he hit from the corner when Terry decided he didn’t feel like following him (was an incredible pass by LBJ btw).

The Heat’s problem was once they were up 15 they played “not to lose the lead” instead of go for the kill. They were more concerned with making sure they used up the whole shot clock than getting off a good shot. I heard on Sportscenter they rattled off the last 6 or so possessions - Haslem 16 footer, LBJ 2 or 3 25-footers, Wade 22footer, Chalmers shot, and a Bosh 21-footer. I mean, they were getting WIDE OPEN DUNKS ALL GAME. Look back a few pages to where I said “you can’t give Dirk a chance to come back”… well fuck, even I doubted Dirk for a minute but when MIA decided they’d rather run 24secs off than get a good shot, they ended up proving me right.

Side note: Dallas won, IN MIAMI, despite giving up 20 turnovers and only hitting 6 threes. Not gonna lie, I picked MIA in 7 but this bodes well for DAL.

Um…yes. I picked DAL in 5 because it was 12-to-1 odds and a 2-3-2 format. I would have preferred DAL in 6 but it was 4.5-to-1. Anyway, not that DAL has a great chance of winning 4 in a row, needed that game

But hey enjoy while you still can, I still doubt the Mavs will beat the Heat.

The Mavs needed a 22-2 run to win the game. If they continue to let Wade and LBJ to have their way it won’t make a difference. Not surprised to see Dirk steal a game.
Yes they needed a 22-2 run, but lets not act like they were playing great basketball before that. They had 20 turnovers in game 2. 20! Some were good Miami defense, but many were retarded dribbling off your own legs type of shit.

They fixed the rebounding problem in game 2, they will fix the turnovers in game 3, and Jason Terry won’t wait until 5 minutes left in the game to start making shots. Remember the Mavs have been up in both of these games, it’s not like the Heat have been totally dominating. It only seems like that because Lebron and Wade are throwing down monster hightlight reel dunks every few minutes.
I disagree. It’s not because of the dunks but the Stat line. I didn’t check the final lines but at one point Wade was 11-15 from the floor with 27 points. James was 8-11fg at one point as well.

There’s no way Dallas wins this series if that continues.

Remember that at one point Wade and James were making a disproportional amount of circuis shots raj. I do not think if they replayed this game the same way, they would’ve been that high of a FG%. Maybe 50-60% because of the dunks, but not 75% and higher.

That’s LeBrons old go-to move man!!! It’s been said over and over that he is so ball dominant (or was) It looked like he had fixed that problem during the middle of the season when they got on a roll but it seems like he’s gone back to it more and more in these playoffs. It’s actually worked out pretty well for Mia so far in these playoffs… Just not last night.

When it works it’s “oh LeBron is closing out these games. He’s taking over at the end!”
When it doesn’t work it’s “what the hell LeBron!?!” lol

What do you guys think of the narrative coming out about Wade’s taunting being the difference in the Mavs’ demeanor? They are saying when he hit that 3 to put MIA up 15, he stood in front of the bench well after the TV cut to commercial, then him and LBJ celebrated right next to DAL bench near midcourt.

On one hand, you should never need “extra” motivation in an NBA finals game. On the other, anyone who’s played competitive sports knows that kind of thing pisses you off.

Yeah, but even if they hit 60% of their fg attempts Dallas will have trouble winning. I don’t recall a ton of circus shots, especially James who always takes a bunch of contested long 2’s and quite a few 3’s. It’s just part of his game.

So your saying that if both Wade AND LeBron shoot better than 75% a game from re field in all of the remaining games that Miami will win? Ya dont say… Lol

lol - well apparently overstand thought Lebron and Wade weren’t dominating it just appeared that way (in his opinion) because of the dunks.

I didn’t hear that but what’s funny is that as soon as the game was over I thought about their big celebration after the Boston series (like they’d just won a ring) and then I thought "I bet wade and LeBron regret that little stare down/chest punching shit lol

Terry and Chandler both talked postgame about how it pissed them off.

I will say this…

I never really liked LeBron (outside of his rookie year maybe?) I always thought that he had everything handed too him and that he was the self appointed “King” without ever really doing anything. I would hear announcers talk about how great he was and would think that his offensive game was very one dimensional (put your head down, barrel into the lane and either get a layup or a foul call, occasionally a jumper)

I definitely hated the douche move he pulled in the way he left Cleveland (not that he left, just the way he held the decision. Seemed like he thought he was too good to announce it on regular tv like bosh/wade did in their announcement) I vehemently rooted against LeBron (and I still do) because I don’t want him taking “the easy route” and having it actually pay off in the first year but…

I really have watched a lot of heat games and I can say that LeBron has definitely stepped up his game to a whole new level. He is shooting much better, his D has gotten even better and he has shown that he can close out games much better as well (excluding last night of course) I can honestly say that I’m actually starting to like LeBron now. Maybe it’s because he’s actually opened up a little and admitted that he made mistakes this past offseason?

Maybe it’s because he seems more like a humble guy who genuinely just wants to win and not “brand himself”? I’m not sure what it is but I definitely appreciate his game a lot more now.

Do I want them to win a ring this year? Hell-motherfuckin-No I don’t! lol… But would I mind seeing them get one or two within the next couple seasons? Nope (as long as it’s not against the Lakers). I always liked Wade and Im not so dumb/blinded by hate as think that they won’t/can’t win any rings… I just hope it’s not this year

Great comeback by Dallas, Dirk is officially cold blooded.

I knew Miami was in trouble because they started trying to burn clock at the 7 minute mark. The offense was so stagnant and Dallas was just the opposite and capitalized. Miami is still a flawed team, they can look like a jv team on offense at times, they can’t blow anyone out that is why they prefer a grind out game. Dallas is just the opposite and shot their way to a win last night.

We have ourselves a series now, I stay with my pick Miami in 7. I think it will come out of dallas 3-2 in favor of dallas, Miami wins the next two at home.

Good points…I think the volume of hatred he received this season humbled him a bit. Made him realize people aren’t just going to blindly love him no matter what.

As far as his bball talents, you have to admit even in his first years he was a phenomenal passer for someone of his size. He’s gotten better at shooting, but to me, the biggest change on his game has been on the defensive end. He’s gone from an occasionally-interested roamer to a lockdown one-on-one defender and very good help defender. It is hard to put in that much effort on D when you’re also the focal point of the offense, but god damn I do not think he’s been fatigued a minute of his life, the man is a robot.

I’m not criticizing Chalmers at all. He did a great job on that 3 and barely touched the ball the rest of the 7 minutes. There’s nothing he could have done better aside from playing shitty D like the rest of the team. My point is that if you’ve got a guy who nailed 4 3’s AND you’re having trouble scoring, keep him on the floor. It opens up the floor for everyone.

They did about a half dozen things wrong in those 7 minutes. They really had to go out of their way to fuck this game up and they did just that.

His “king” title wasn’t self appointed, it was given to him in High school. Probably because he went to a religious high school - ya know the King James Bible.
