Any perspective from people who actually play basketball at a high level and have hurt their non shooting hand?
Its his non-shooting hand and Bryant was able to play effectively with a similar injury to his shooting hand last year. So yeah, I believe Dirk when he says he’ll be able to manage just fine.

Dallas shot like shit, showed no heart down the stretch, played uncharacteristically sloppy and was still in this game the whole way. Pretty confident they’ll work out the kinks and win Thursday.
Its called defense.
Missing wide open shots has nothing to do with D.
Someone on ESPN said that Miami’s speed and athleticism and being able to rotate so quickly is causing Dallas to shoot faster than normal. Which won’t let them get into rhythm.
I still say Miami in 6.

If it’s close the last few minutes of the game, Miami will shut them down again. They need a double digit lead.

Who do you guys think is more likely to lose at home, MIA or DAL?
After last night’s game I think if DAL wins Game 2 and MIA wins Game 3, we’re looking at 7 games for sure.
But if MIA doesn’t lose tomorrow, I don’t see DAL losing at home and I see MIA closing out. My friend and I were arguing about this and agreed that we weren’t sure if either team would lose at home.
I’m just basing this on Game 1 play from both teams, not on prior predictions.
WF,
Pretty sure ESPN announced Dirk had a torn tendon.
Disagree about Wade being “back.” I think he played it a bit relaxed last night. Probably much better than the last game against Chicago, but he still seemed a bit off.

That’s more pro-Miami propaganda. Wide open shots are wide open shots. Making them or missing them has nothing to do with anything or anyone except the guy shooting the ball. The announcers said several times last night that Dallas was just missing open shots. Think they make those shots tomorrow.
Kareem and Pippen are widely regarded as two of the biggest assholes in NBA history, and Kareem is starting to come off as a really bitter old man. There’s a reason that no one has given him a coaching job, and now he seems intent on burning every imaginable bridge he can until he’s stuck on his own little island.
Miami wasn’t hurrying any shots…on the contrary, Mavs shot only 67 shots. They haven’t shot that few since the first 2 weeks of the season.
Missing wide open shots was the main problem, 2nd was Miami dominating the offensive boards. They got 4 in one play last night.
And my dad met Kareem in Milwaukee when he was a teenager. He was a bellhop at a hotel Kareem stayed at and he said the dude was just a huge asshole. Was a total jerk to everyone, didn’t tip my dad and wouldn’t even sign an autograph after my dad carried his bags up.

that was one of my favorite nicknames of his.
Big Shaq Diesel will be missed. I’m looking forward to seeing what he does now that he’s done playing. I’d love to see shaq doing what Barkley does. He would be nonstop laughs.
I wonder what team shaq will retire with? I hope he retires as a Laker. Most of his “legacy” was built in LA.

True. And I think it was Magic who said part of it. Dallas will make open shots when they get them tomorrow, but I think Miami’s defense will also make adjustments and tighten up even more.
I think Dallas will come out and shoot better in game 2… but I also think that Miami will shoot better as well.
Dirk needs to be more aggressive at the offensive end IMO. There were a few times in the middle of the 4th quarter when he passed to cutters rather than taking the shot… I think the pass was probably the “right” move but his teammates were struggling and Dirk needed to take over that 4th quarter.
Dirk shot bad last night and I dont think he’ll do that again… he has only shot worse than he did last night in 2 out of his 15 previous playoff games. finger or no finger he’ll shoot better tomorrow

No one’s defense is fast enough to outrun crisp ball movement and precise shooters. If Dallas hits those shots [and I believe they will] then it doesn’t matter what Miami does. Also, Dallas needs to tighten up their zone. They were great for stretches but slacked for others.

Agreed he needs to be more agressive, and Dallas more than any other team feeds off his aggressiveness. What I mean is, when Dirk gets hot and starts hitting shots, everyone seems to start hitting. Part of that is the D’s keying on Nowitzki allowing defenders to collapse and more open shots, and part of it is his energy seems to spread. There has been what seems like entire quarters where Dallas doesn’t miss. I think they come out blazing tomorrow.
^^^ If Miami wins the chip I’ll be all but convinced that the powers that be forced Boston to trade Perkins to allow Miami an easier path through the playoffs. I’m only half joking. That trade still makes ZERO sense.

I don’t know, but I do know Miami’s defense will always be there and will get better. Dallas’ precise shooting will come and go.
Will Dallas have a bad shooting night again? No, I don’t think so. But I believe Miami will shoot better also.
I have a feeling Dallas will win game 2 and Miami will take 2 games in Dallas.

hahaha… I think its what I call “The LeBron Effect”. Teams dont want their stars to just walk in free agency so they’re kinda “forced” to trade them early so they dont get dick all in return.
