I love this season so far. Loving the parity. There is no dominating team.

My Cowboys on the other hand need a fucking coach. Phillips looks completely lost. However, this will not be a problem unless Jerry Jones takes a page from the Snyder playbook and hires a coach with balls then shuts the fuck up and lets him coach. Jones castrates coaches.[/quote]

As much as I despise the Cowboys (and I mean really despise them) if all the above happens Cowboys would be a very very scary team.

WC did you look at the skin pictures of ESPN thread or something like that? Pat Willis is a monster.

What is everyones thoughts about the Saints so far? The Sportscasters are shitting all over them like they do whenever a champ loses. I think they are still a really dangerous team with that offense, Brees is a still a monster. I haven’t seen a lot of their games though, mainly highlights.

I think the saints just need to find the motivation again… they are basically beating themselves… statistically its hard for a team to go back to the superbowl after winning it all the year before.

for one thing the schedule is adjusted for difficulty and their division has solid teams. i think they shake off this last week and start winning again. Seems like the 72’ dolphins popped the champagne earlier than year’s prior…

^ Saints are fucked until they get healthy, no Thomas, Bush and Shockey is not lighting it up any more. Brees is having to hold onto the ball to wait for receivers to open up, they have NO running game. When they get their backfield healthy they will be back, other thing is no team has ever had back to back defensive turnovers seasons. The chances that they get 130 points off turnovers again for the season is slim to none.

well also they never really had a strong running game to begin with, its always been a compliment to their passing game… brees seems to be more reluctant to air it out this year than last (madden curse?)… But i agree untimely injuries have effected their play greatly

^HuH? They ran the hell out of Thomas, Bell, & Bush last yr. With those 3 hurt or gone, of course they have no running game. But to say they didn’t have a strong running game is not true.

Lance Moore needs more playing time too. He is a complete WR & a better compliment w/Colston.

Dude, that’s fucking racist!!! Besides, I didn’t even know they had any Chinese on the roster…

I LOL’d

Julius Jones just signed with the S aints

Jones is a back-up, he may do okay in the spread type offense that the Saints run.

You could do a lot worse (i.e. Ladell Betts) than using Julius Jones as a replacement until they get healthy. It was a good signing IMO.

I agree, guess it didnt sound that way. Betts is a power runner, Jones is a faster scat back type. Hell funnier shit has happened maybe he breaks out in this offense.

SLEEPER ALERT!

I like Betts too. Though Jones certainly could help them w/screens & check downs. Maybe they should use the thunder & lightning technique?

Wait I thought Shockey was healthy again. I played against him in fantasy this weekend.

I think JJ is solid pick up,he should be productive and that will also help Bush once he gets back.

Not to derail this into a fantasy thread, but I am fucking excited for the Steelers vs Colt McCoy because I have the Steelers D.

I think 5 years ago this might have been a good signing, but he hasn’t done anything in recent years and is pretty washed up.

I’ll be surprised if he gets more than a handful of touches.

5 years ago I dont think he would be available. I know he is basically shot, but he was a good back and a feature back for a while, in that offense he may be somewhat successful short term…I do think its a good pick up either way for NO, maybe theyll catch lightning in a bottle.

although i think its a decent pick i don’t see jones doing much in NO. I think he’ll have his opportunities… he hasn’t really been a starter since 2006 when he rushed for over 1000 yds since then he’s basically bounced around team to team… Maybe NO is a refresher for him as it is for several players…

vinnie hes only been on two teams, Im not saying he’s gonna have a turn around like LT, Im just saying for a few weeks in that offense it was a good no risk, possible reward signing.

^Agreed. I don’t think it was a bad move. He’ll at least have fresh legs. Unless you live in Wash. when is the last time anyone has seen him run? He might just surprise you.

Eagles trade Mike Bell for Jerome Harrison, thoughts everyone?

I think Eagles got the better deal out of this one. I have a feeling McCoy and Harrison is gonna be a sick tandem.
