Troy is a god damn beast! Man, last year when they lost him you could tell that D was not nearly as good.
Losing Aaron Smith and having Timmons dinged up didn’t help either. Troy is definitely one of a kind though.

Okay well I do, but I see where you are from, so Vick is going to win the division for them?
No, Kolb is. Wait, I mean’t Vick. I mean Kolb!!! hahaha

Your coach is about as big of a pussy as Wade is it seems.

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!
No, watch it will be the fucking Giants.
x2 hahaha.

Jk, not the Giants and that horrible secondary. Seriously, it’s for grabs.
Something we can all agree on, man did you watch all the nutt hugging on Vick last night?
1. Cowboys need a new coach who can lead and inspire, not nope around like a fat lump. They also need their OC to start running the ball, plain and simple.

 2. Vick is going to cause nightmares for DC’s and should be fun to watch. We’ll just have to see if he goes back to his old ways of always scrambling, or stays with this supposed new form of pass first, than run.

 3. The Giants can’t even function as a team in the locker room, and until that gets fixed it’s going to be impossible to function as one on the field. Someone needs to step up and lead, they have the talent, but no leadership.

4.'Skins look pretty decent, McNabb is an elite QB who deserves more respect than he’s ever going to get. Hopefully the run game and his WR’s can step up and help him out. Shannahan is still as tan as ever, he must tote a tanning booth around with him no matter what part of the country he’s in.

#1 JJ may go back to a strong willed coach after a week willed one has been his MO in the past. I would fucking give my left nutt for Cowher
#2 Vick will cause nightmares, BUT now there is at least some game tape for Defenses to game plan be fun to watch, leopards dont change their spots.
#3 Eli is a pouty looking kid since Strahan and Tiki left there is not leaders on that team, inconsistent play will always be there which is fine with me.
#4 My wife when she saw Shannahan asked the very same thing, I played it off as he is a coach always outside and then it cut to Wade and she was damn he is a big fat ghost. I just laughed.

I think Cowher is going to get the Panthers job handed to him on a silver platter. I (well everybody else too) think this is the one he’s been waiting for.

That is assuming Fox loses it, which seems like a safe bet at this early juncture.

I heard that its almost a definite that Cowher goes to the Giants next year

Source?

I can’t see it if he has to choose between the Giants and Panthers (assuming the money is close). He lives in NC now.

I guess anything can happen though.

Are you basing this only on where he is living? If it is based simply on teams I believe it would be a no brainer that he would pick the GIants…here are my sources.

Now Cowher has denied this, but I believe this is out of respect to Coughlin, unless Coughlin goes to the second round of the playoffs…cowher will be the giants next coach

If you read the end of the first article, that’s what I’m basing it off of. It’s not like I’ve had personal conversations with the guy. But everyone has said that Carolina would be his dream job ever since he quit the Steelers. His daughter goes to school there, etc. Now that his wife has passed on though, he might feel like he needs to make a change for himself. Can’t really blame him if that’s true.

Wherever he goes, I just hope it’s in the NFC. I have no issue with the Giants, they are a class act. He was offered the Browns job before Mangini took it and thankfully turned it down. I don’t think he’d take any jobs that would make Steeler fans hate him (Browns, Ravens, Bengals, Raiders, Cowboys), and I know he won’t take a job where he doesn’t know he’ll be successful and have a good deal of control. The Giants would be a more logical choice than the Panthers because they have a franchise QB and a stronger talent base.

I think I’ve now talked myself into agreeing with you, LOL.

I said the same thing earlier, Aaron Smith is such an unsung player. One play last week he took on three guys while his LB’s crushed the QB lol. Folks that know football realize how big an impact he has on that run D. I think people just look at the LB’ing corps and not the three guys up front taking on all the blockers.

It’s nice having B-Mac back as well.

Timmons is turning into something pretty special, the dude can fly, another couple years and he’ll be a household name in the NFL, sorry Willis lol.

The Cowboys would be nuts not to throw everything at Cower to come to town but will JJ be the right owner for Cower, that’s the question.

 1. I have this think going with every Steeler fan I know: instead of saying Aaron Smith is “unsung” or “underrated”, let’s just start calling him the best run-stopping DE in the NFL. It’s true, and maybe we can make it catch on before he retires.

 2. Timmons is going to be a household name by the end of this year if he stays healthy. Now I finally see why he was worth a first round pick. Here’s hoping they can resign him…

 3. I think Cowher would rather chew off his own arm than work under JJ’s thumb. That’s not his style, and it wouldn’t last one season.

Oh, yeah B-Mac is a big-time upgrade over Gay. So effectively we traded 12 games of Tone for B-Mac. Not toooooo bad I guess.

 1. You could have said the same thing about Bill Parcell’s, you under estimate JJ and his abilities as an owner/business man/GM. Here is my dream coaching situation in Dallas, Cowher HC, Rob Ryan DC, and Russ Grimm OC.

That is very, very true. I completely forgot about The Tuna’s stint in Big D.

Pittsburgh will erupt with Cowher-hatred if he takes the Dallas job though. All of the old-timers will burn his likeness and curse his name for eternity.

Honestly I think JJ needs to take notes on how the Rooneys hire coaches. They haven’t been wrong on a guy in a long, long time.

I admire the Steelers orgnization on how they run things on and off the field. Still hate them for going one up on the Cowboys for SB. Parcells wanted to leave Dallas, he was not run off. I think if Cowher took the job he would have it for as long as he wanted it.

^ I do too, I am a Jet fan but we really have some jerkoffs on our team…Holmes, Cromartie and Edwards the obvious ones. It seems as if the Steelers dont put up with that kind of shit sans Big Ben

The talent on the Jets team is second to none, but the leadership and the direction of the team is pretty miserable.

It seems like they just talked the talk all summer, didn’t worry about the side effects or the distractions, and now all of that is coming back to haunt them.

The leadership has also been pretty contradictory, as they all act like one of the boys in ‘HardKnocks’ and get rowdy, but then when people start getting in trouble and things start going down the drain, they say that it shouldn’t be happening.

They need to makeup their mind, and choose a direction. You can’t rock the bad boy persona and then yell at players when they get in trouble. If your tired of the distractions, bench Edwards, send him to classes, and send a message.

I have to stick up for Santonio and say that the Steelers would not have traded him if it weren’t for the fact that he’s in the final year of his rookie deal and they knew they couldn’t afford to sign him long-term. There are too many other studs that are going to need deals in the near future (Woodley, Polamalu, Timmons, to name a few).

Tone isn’t a bad guy, he just likes the reefer a little too much (the shit should be legal anyhow, so it doesn’t bother me that much), and he’s not the brightest light on the tree. I think you guys got a great deal there if the FO can get him signed beyond this year, and if he stays out of trouble, which I think he will.

Edwards, on the other hand, has always been a clown, but the Jets didn’t really risk much when they picked him up (I think).

I think the Steelers try to go with high-character guys, but they’re not going to screw their team by tossing money (and wins) away just for the sake of taking the moral high ground, like with Ben. If he had been charged with rape, I think things would be very different.

I never liked it when Steelers fans laughed about players from other teams getting into trouble. Pride comes before the fall, as they say. They are not morally superior to any other organization, in my book.

Well said, Pittsburgh has had their share of pinheads over the years. I remember everybody and his brother laughing about how the Steelers were letting pro bowlers go left and right. It started (I think anyways) with Leon Searcy going to the Jags, they brought him along slowly, then he became a pro bowler and left after his rookie contract expired, thanks for the training Pittsburgh lol. It’s about money and I don’t hold a grudge at all, he was good and it sucked he left. Then Chad Brown did the same thing, Yancy Thigpen etc, it was bad for quit a few years.

Could be my homer imagination but they seem to hold onto guys longer now, maybe the salary cap helped, who knows.

Something weird I just heard on the radio (WFAN in NY) Jay Glazer announed that before the niner saints game…Ronnie Lott of all people decided to give a pep talk to … the Saints? How the fuck does that happen. Lott is one of the niner greats how does he give the saints a pre game speech against the team of which his legacy was built?

What a dick. I mean I’ll always love Lott, but if that’s true I am going to temporarily un-love him for one whole week.
