2010 NFL Thread

I TOLD you guys it would be a close game but Ravens would pull it out, did I not?

I predicted a lot of games this week and it paid off in my sportsbook betting WOOHOO!!! Let’s hope I can continue that throughout the season.

I don’t know if I missed it but I didn’t see Housh there last night for the Ravens? I think LT is still going to be a force out there. He had a couple nice pickups. Sanchez did not look good at all but I think that is Schotty’s blame as well. They have a lot of stuff to figure out. I would HATE to be coming home to an angry Rex Ryan!

Only caught a little of the KC game but boy did the Chargers look like shit once the weather started coming down. That KC punt returner is a BEAST.

If the Jets don’t go 3-1 the aura is gone. Half of what they do is is beat you up in the mental game.

HA!! Nate! Really? The Ravens didn’t really pull anything out. The Jets wrapped that shit up and gave it to them. Yes, Housh was their & caught a couple of balls.

It was destined to be a defense only game. Sanchez is a worse QB (right now) than Flacco which leads me to believe that the Ravens had the edge. Not only that but when your coach makes some of the remarks he has (Super Bowl and all that) there is no doubt going to be some ironic situations.

Neither team looked like magic. Just one looked like LESS shit than the other.

Anyone know why Housh got so few touches? I thought it would have been him, Boldin (who looked great), and Heap out there all night long.

I hope Sanchez gets his shit figured out by the time Santonio Holmes makes an appearance. They will have a sexy receiving core with Cotchery, Edwards, and Holmes…

^To answer the question of Housh/Boldin is simple. They are one in the same receiver. They both play the slot. Stallworth was supposed to be the deep threat. You won’t get that out of either Housh or Boldin. That’s why they sent Heap down the seam long more than once.

As for all the talk. Rex hasn’t called out one other team. He just says his team is good enough to win. I’ve yet to hear one disrespectful comment towards any other team. Even in his post game he said the Ravens were a great team. So all this bulls-eye shit talk is exactly that, SHIT.

Bye bye Kris Jenkins and Ryan Grant. Sucks to those who drafted Grant in fantasy.

I THINK, and I cannot confirm this, that a lot of people are sleeping on the Patriots. If what we all saw in week 1 is close to any indication how they’ll play for the rest of the season I think you have to put them right up there with any 3 teams in the league to be favourites for a Superbowl title.

I know some of you may be cautious to praise them that much because the defence is so-so and you don’t know how it will play each week but you cannot not like the offensive potenial if Brady is playing at anything above 80%.

Other than that, my opinion on Rex Ryan and the media attention he attracts is that it can be attributed to the lack of enthusiastic, almost egotistical and charismatic coaches in the NFL. You got the dull and non responsive Bill Belichick, the strange Mike Singletary and the rest of the field – who you may know their names but nothing about them.

I hang my head today in shame. Probably no 2 bigger Jets fans than Matty and myself. A complete disaster on offense. It was anemic. As much as I want to blame Shitenheimer I lay most of the blame on Sanchez the MexiCAN’T. He looks scared and doesn’t even allow the receivers to run their routes. Every pass being a check down is ridiculous. I think I’d rather had seen him throw interceptions 40yds down field than what I saw last night. Shonn Greene was no where to be found & than yanked. His only role is to wear the the def. down w/that big body. He did NOTHING.

Defense: Front 7 played great. Cromartie must’ve been thinking about what to name his next kid, cuz he sucked the tit himself. I expected Wilson to get burned a bit, but no backside help is not something I would’ve done.

Whether Keller should of been in there or not is irrelevant. You practice that 10yd out until you’re dreaming about it. Fundamentals went right out the window for the Jets last night.

Hopefully Jenkins isn’t to injured, going to NE next week ain’t no walk in the park.[/quote]

I never really got the Sanchez craze when he was announced the QB starter. IMO, he’s the weak link in that entire chain of operation. They would be much better all around if they had a better QB that could actually put points on the scoreboard and let that awesome defence rest a bit. I blame Sanchez for the Jets not making it to the Superbowl last year. I automatically knew NO would win against Indy while a Jets Saints final looked much more promising, atleast from my perspective.

yeah I was just busting matt’s balls.

I like Rex, and understand why the players love him.

Also, last night aside, I still think the jets will sweep the division and once in the Playoffs, the D will carry them far.

I love how every year after week one fans are ready to crown there team ready for the Super Bowl. It is a 16 game season, injuries and game plans change week to week. Since I live in Houston and the Texans beat the Colts should I start planning on a Texans SB? Or maybe Kansas City?

^Yes to KC!!! <<<----Sarcasm.

Ok, Jenks is out & we got the Pats Sun aft. WTF! Possibly 0-2? Than follow that w/the Fins & Vikes. Shit, we got a road to hoe.

I hope the Mexican’t has got his shit together. Between he & Greene they look worse than JV football. I know its still very very early but this is one of those “must win” games. A division win would be big.

That’s how football goes! One weekend your the hottest team in the league and your a sure shot at the bowl, the next week your in rebuilding more.

As a 49ers fan, I’m already looking forward to the draft (for a QB) and the hiring of a non retarded offensive coordinator this summer. Apparently Raye is so inarticulate when calling in the plays that the players cannot understand him. On top of that, he also tries to call the plays from memory, which results in him mixing and matching certain portions of plays by accident, just what the 49ers don’t need.

You sound like a Red Sox fan (a true fan, not a Pink Hat)…

It is awesome, lol.

I know its early…but to me the Jets have to, have to, win against the PATS…with that being said they are going to have to throw the FUCKING BALL downfield sometimes.

Rex Ryan is protecting Mark Sanchez like he is a landscaping contractor trying to protect his illegal mexians from Immigration!

Danny Woodhead of Hardknocks fame got cut yesterday to bring back David Clowney.

I really don’t think you’ll have much of a problem with that. Their run Defense kinda blows, and they softened up in the second half against the Bengals.

So, if the Jets can score 21-24 points running and ball control, they should win at home.

I mean, Revis pretty much seals up moss, if they double Welker (and don’t hold him, lol) and make the Pats beat them with the tight ends and running game, the Jets should have no problem stopping that.

I will give it to week 5 to evaluate your QB, if he continues with the less than stellar performance than I would agree. From what I saw of that game, your D let down a lot, letting the 80 year old Hasselbeck throw all over you is not a good first game.

This game is more important than last week, they HAVE to adjust their game plan. Also they need to really just let Sanchize play the game, he showed more promise last year even when making mistakes. Paralysis by analysis.

^The problem w/leaving Welker in single coverage is that singular person is Wilson. I know he’s a rookie, but he blew chunks all over the field the other night. Missing Brodney Pool hurt too. Haven’t heard if he’ll play Sun. or not.

If the O doesn’t give the def. time to catch their breath, it’ll be a long day. We need to start sustaining drives. As for Sanchez, I’d give him the 1st qtr & if he can’t put points on the board, bring in Brunell.

I hope Rex is climbing deep in Shittyheimers ass this week. Time for a ultimatum w/that cat. Get it done or get out.

My thoughts on cutting Woodhead? Why? How many receivers do you need not to catch the ball. Woodhead was a spark for the team. Dumb ass move. Hell, as bad as Greene played I slap Woodhead in there quick. He wants the ball and he wants to win.

The Jets will score 21-24pts over the next 4 weeks combined!!!

HaHaHaHa I love how heated people get, by the end of the year we can bring up some of these quotes on how peoples teams are going to the SB. The skins D is great, but McNabb has nobody to throw the ball to.

5 weeks? We’ve had 5 years to evaluate him. He’s just not a good QB, no leadership and no accuracy. I mean I’ve hated Smith since the day we drafted him, so I’m biased, but I think he’s had more than enough time.
