You heard it hear first. The Lakers will Three-Peat! They are definitely favored unless Bosh and LeBron team up together with some other good role players to form some super team no one is positioned to beat this team again as of yet.
LMAO at the Cavs getting shaq and thinking they would form some super duo to defeat the Lakers… That didn’t work so let’s see what they come up with this summer…
Bynum needs to get on a cycle of some D-Bol or something. Boy doesn’t have enough testosterone if he’s always getting hurt like that. lol

I didnt predict any winner of game 7 but greg can vouch for me when I say my analysis was pretty much on target.
Just summarizing quickly, you pretty much knew Kobe wasn’t going to be the decider in this, frankly speaking, he wasn’t the main factor for the Lakers in beating the Celtics. The Celtics sealed him off with glue as expected and he forced way too much things. He was hurting them for 3 Qs but kinda made up for it in the 4th with the rebounds and ‘intangibles.’
Pau, who I’ve said from the beginning is the true MVP for the Lakers these finals, was contained offensively in the first 3 Q but pretty much had his way in the 4th. The Cs just got too tired.
And finally, the x-factor, one of the main keys for a game 7 victory: that goes to none other than Ron Artest, the true x-factor. Who woulda thought?
At the end we can conclude that it was one of the hardest fought playoff games ever. One of the best defensive performances by both teams, reminiscing of the 80s bulldog ball played by the Pistons and such. Magic sure loved it.
Game 7 was the Cs to lose and they lost it. They had it but got too tired at the end. It was this teams tragic flaw; that their greatest asset was also their greatest liability. Playing defense like that every single night wears you out. At some point all the mental toughness isnt going to matter when your body can’t cope anymore. I feel very bad for KG and the Cetics, this team deserves all the respect they can get. They just faced a team that had that extra oomph when it counted.
This series has shined a light on Doc Rivers more than anything else. hes one of the best coaches in bball. If he leaves Beantown he better go coach LeBron!
BTW, regarding another Lakers-Celtics Finals next year, it might not happen if Boston can’t keep a few of their most important players.
-Paul Pierce can opt out of next year and pursue a multi year deal
-Ray Allen’s a free agent
-Tony Allen, Nate Robinson are free agents
-I’m not sure, but I think the extension on Rondo’s contract kicks in next year, so his raise gives the Celtics less money to work with in resigning Pierce and the Allens
I started a thread about what may be the most exciting and important NBA off-season in history. More on how hard it’s gonna be for Boston to hold their team together, as well as the elite guys on the market, etc. Hope this interests you guys.
Oh yeah: Rand, awesome pics man. Your boy looks legitimately excited to be there. That’s cool as shit. Hope y’all had a blast and glad the Lakers got it.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Kobe’s post-game press conference. The whole thing from beginning to end was awesome.[/quote]
hahahaha the best part was “thats one more than shaq” I literally laughed out loud on that one. It was also cool how Kobe said that the rest of the team picked up his slack cause he was tired and sucking but the rest of the guys picked the team up. Its not often that a “superstar” will admit to being gassed and that the rest of the guys won that game. I thought that was pretty cool

The whole thing was awesome. They asked about his injuries and he admitted to them, and a reporter said what about earlier when he said he was fine and he said “I was just lying to you guys. I’m beat up.” He was pretty honest. And the “one more than Shaq” line was classic.
yeah and when he said that this was the best championship cause they beat the Celtics and all that. It was pretty cool cause Kobe’s always pretty reserved when it comes to the media. I enjoyed it… and of course Artest was a nut job but I was cracking up at his stuff.
I’m watching the parade right now and I think they just showed Pau with his son? Im not sure but he was almost the same height as his dad (if it is in fact pau’s kid) and he looks like he’s 16 or 17.
hahahahaha Artest just plugged his new album and single that’s gonna drop on iTunes lol… that was after he had the mic and was chanting “BOSTON SUCKS. BOSTON SUCKS.” hahahaha
