2010 Draft

You got that right, but that can be said for many small Texas towns. I just worry about taking a WO in the first round. First year there has been on one WO who produced and that was Randy Moss. Most WO’s take a least a year before they put up decent numbers. But that could be why Jerry will keep Roy for one more year.

I’m surprised the Lions didn’t draft him out of reflex

LOL, but Mat Millin is gone. Honestly the Lions for the first time look like they are on the right track, as long as they dont do something stupid and fire the head coach and GM without giving them at least 5 years.

I do wonder, however, why they drafted J. Best instead of Gearhart to run the rock. Now they have to deal with him twice a year in Minnesota. Best had that wicked head/neck injury last year.

Damn…didn’t realize Gerhart went to the Vikes. They’re going to have a scary backfield…as if it wasn’t scary enough already.

Everyone wants the home run scat back now. How many guys were compared to Percy Harvin etc in this draft. I think Houston will have a decent backfield if Slayton is healthy with Tate running with him. Vikings are just going to be fucking scary…if the old man comes back. If not T-Jack is not going to get them to the SB.

I have to say that I was very pleased with the 49ers draft. They went above and beyond to shore up the offensive line, and although it’s not sexy, it will make every facet of the offense better.

Landing Mays in with the 49th pick is icing on the cake, he will be a dominant player, and the added chip on his shoulder will only make it more exciting.

Opening at Seattle, Mays vs Carrol, can’t wait for that one.

I would have faith in Singletary. Yes yall had a good draft, still think the Seahawks had a better one, even though that pains me to say that. Not a Pete fan.

Maybe, but they also have a lot less to work with. The 49ers have a much better foundation and hopefully they can dominate the NFC West this year.

I agree, Seattle had a good draft and that doesnt always equate to a better record. 49rs have been in a rebuilding phase longer and should take the West. Arizona is not doing shit with Warner retiring and losing Boldin/others. Just hope for your sake Smith is the answer at QB you got a running game and strong defense.

Problem is that Mays can’t cover. He has slow hips. He’s one-dimensional in that he’s fast, really fast. He’s not really a banger either which he should be b/c he’s huge. But I guess they drafted him for potential like my Giants did with Jason Pierre Paul. I don’t like "potential’ picks in the first couple of rounds but esp. in Rd 1. I want guys who can play and have shown it on tape.
But Singletary got Davis to live up to his potential so maybe he can do so with Mays? Maybe not b/c Davis was known for being a slacker while Mays is not.

Mays will be just fine, Sing will turn him into a human missile.

Im with everyone who likes Toby G, I only saw him play one game, against Notre Dame and he was incredibly impressive. I think if he was on national tv more he would have beaten out Ingram for the Heisman. He should turn into a really solid nfl back

I am from and currently live in the Stanford area, and was lucky enough to see Toby play in a couple games. His most outstanding asset is his balance and dexterity, which is superb for a back with such size. I hope he dominates with the Vikes, AP and TG should be a pretty good 1-2 punch.

Agreed, he is just a freak athlete, wasnt he also a stud baseball player? I heard during the games broadcast he was taking something like 18-20 credits as well. I got a lot of respect for him

Thought people would be very interested in this, it is a leaked photo of the Dallas Cowboys draft board, with a typed out list and notes as to where those players were actually taken:
