2010 College Football 2.0

The whole offense is set up for the spread, Harbaugh runs a tranditional pro offense. He would really suck for 3 years minimum to get the right recruits, could he do it probably. But why? Chance for failure is high and would fuck him for future jobs. Michigan is not getting a big name right now, they better start trolling the high school coaches.

you guys hear about the fiasco with maryland football, letting go friedgen and bringing in edsall after mike leach was looking like he was going to have the job. I always used to get behind uconn athletics (where edsall was at), but i could never root for the terrapins. Edsall did a hell of the job in bringing up the huskies to be a solid big east team when they were 1-AA before. Kinda upsetting to see friedgen go as he was a stalwart of terrapin football and was funny to look at lol. Heard that friedgen will find his way to vtech OC if he wants to continue coaching. apparently he and beamer are good buds.

Yep, just like Texas!

Okay, sorry, I couldn’t resist. :)[/quote]

Regardless of all these talks about the coaches, etc. I am actually looking forward to watching the Ohio State vs. Arkansas game, I think it could be a good one.

 Liar you just want to scout for next year so Nebraska can kick Ohio Stats ass.

I am too, actually. The Orange Bowl match up didn’t do much for me, just like the lame-o Fiesta Bowl.

I just hope the Sugar Bowl can match up to the Rose, which I thought was a fantastic game.

I’m more of fan of good defenses, hence my hard-on for the Rose Bowl game.

edit-typos

the only BCS games that I care about are the Rose bowl and the NC game. The other ones are lame.

also,

Arkansas is lucky that they’re playing OhioCHOKEState and not Stanford. They woulda got rolled last night just like Va Tech did.

Muuuwaaahahahahahahah!!!

True, lol.

What is funny is that next year, the game all the OSU players come back from suspension is the OSU vs. Husker game, kinda ironic. lol.

This I never have understood. I can see an issue with needing big guys and all you have is small fast guys, but is it not part of the coaches job to win or at least compete with the players they have? Look at what Rich Rod drove away from Michigan when he got there (speaking of the Sugar bowl). Harbaugh turned around Standford is four years. Michigan should not take that long.

But it is about what is set up, cant put a round peg in a square hole. Look at UT or Michigan for that matter, this is the first year Michigan at least had some offense. Cause it took years to get the right people in the right place. You cant make Wes Welker into a tight end no matter how much he eats. I mean the NFL teams have problems switching from a 4-3 to 3-4 defense why? Cause of scheme is different and you need certain players to run a certain scheme.

That was planned, no doubt. Brady I would say only 1 or 2 of those guys are coming back. The rest will come out. When the get away from the coaches and family will be say “Man your ass needs to go Pro and get a paycheck”

I guess I think the coaches should be able to figure something out. Should they not know something about more than one type of offense or defense? I could see specializing in the Pros but college is a revolving door of players.

Damn. Ah well. Great game Ohio State, you earned it. Time to prepare for next year.

Well it’s rumored that when Rodriguez gets fired from Michigan they are going to get Brady Hoke from SDSU. This sucks because he just turned our schools team around and made them competitors in the MWC. I guess it was just a stepping stone for him.

People in michigan want Hoke even less than Ric Rod. I don’t imagine you have too much to worry about.

Why wouldn’t they want him. He turned a one win team in SDSU to a team that won their first bowl game in 26 years.

Not true. I don’t think anyone in Michigan still wants richrod… There’s gotta be at least one person who wants Hoke

about michigan and the spread…

yea coaches can modify their game plan and good coaches should modify their scheme to their players talents but they can only do so much… Im a UF guy and i know muschamp and co. is gonna have issues with the players at florida right now…

in the spread ure o-line is a bit smaller the guards and the centers have to pull much more (get out of the pocket to block for the runner) as opposed to a prostyle offense in which they are massive bodies that don’t need to move rather well (look at the size of notre dame’s interior linemen)… in the spread speed is everything (harvin, demps, rainey)… you don’t have to have size (like south carolina) but speed kills…

as long as you can set the edge then the game is your’s… in the spread u need a qb that is a threat to run and can run the option (nesbitt, tebow, newton, alex smith)… also in the spread your players all need to be versatile, the rb needs to catch the wr needs to be able to run, etc… so you see there’s huge differences in offensive schemes between pro-style vs spread/spread option…

luckily for UF its an end of an era and we got a huge qb prospect coming in (driskel) and brantley prefers the pro-style offense… in addition with weiss a lot of larger wr have become interested… god bless the gators
