2010-2011 NBA Season 3.0

I think Dallas beats OKC. Dallas has had lots of good squads over the years but managed to somehow to choke in the playoffs. I think this will finally be their year to play up to their potential… Unless Wesbrook puts up double digit assists throughout the series I dont see them pulling out the series.
Man, everyone sleeping on OKC. DAL will have a much tougher time guarding KD/RW than MEM did. I think Ibaka is better suited to guard Dirk than Pau.

No way it goes less than 6 or 7 - but I got OKC here.

Durantula is too sick.

You guys think he’s better than Rose, right?
Um, gotta answer this politically. Durant has more talent, but I’m not sure if he’s better right now. He’s not a great ballhandler and disappears sometimes in the waning moments of the game (when he has a hard time getting open). It’s not RW’s fault a lot of the time, he can’t get it to Durant so he has to improvise, and everyone blames it on him for not passing even though Durant is blanketed.

Durant is awesome, and he will eventually be the better player…but I have them at pretty even right now.

I think Rose is a much more exciting player to watch. But I would take Durant over Rose. Rose has the advantage of playing in a major market.

I’m not sleeping on OKC at all, I just think that Dallas has way more experience and are playing better as a team in the playoffs and they have homecourt advantage.

i think it goes 6 or 7 games as well… I just think Dallas is playing too good and just got a lot of rest for its older veteran players.

I had a dream that this is how its gonna go down: Dal in 5, they lose game 3 in OKC. Miami in 6 over Chicago, Bulls grab game 4 in Miami.

Finals: Dallas over Miami in 7.

Dallas is going to play matchup zone vs OKC and totally shut Westbrook down. They did this in the regular season and he averaged like 14 ppg on 30% shooting. They’ll let him drive the lane right into Chandler/Haywood. Marion will hold Durant to 30% shooting. Dirk will average 28 points and 11 rebounds and I expect atleast 10 beastly lob dunks from Tyson Chandler.
Were you sleeping while looking at StatsCube? haha

Westy deserves some serious props for that triple-double in a Game 7

Anytime you can add your name to a list that includes West, Bird, Worthy and Pippen – wow

edit - maybe that should’ve read as “a list solely comprised of…”

Hasn’t he already tied LBJ for career triple doubles?

That kid is going to be bigger than Nash or Kidd in their prime.

No one is sleeping on OKC. You can’t make a comparison between OKC/DAL and LAL/DAL series anyway because LAL were completely off their game. Only things you can take from that game is that DAL played the pick and roll well and that their perimeter shooting was incredibly efficient. Which is no surprise with Terry, Kidd and Dirk putting up wide open 3’s.

Just like when people were saying MIA were going to smoke the Bulls (not specifically speaking in this thread) because they ran through PHI and BOS. Not accounting for the fact PHI are a good team who doesn’t match up well to the Heat, and that BOS were worn down, injured and barely scraped through against NYK. Also no consideration was given to CHI under performing against IND and ATL who actually match up better to the Bulls than the Heat do.

Its given, people will bandwagon.

Anyway I completely agree, OKC and DAL series will go to 7 games. Both are deep teams, and consistent teams. I’m just giving DAL the edge since they are better rested, have shown 6 straight games now they can play tight D and rotate the ball extremely well not giving up too many cheap turnovers as they did earlier in the season. Whilst OKC are coming off two hard fought DEN and MEM series. In saying, I wouldn’t at all be surprised if OKC win the series.

I’m looking at the Mavs to do the same as they did against the Lakers. Rotate the ball, work the pick and roll and try and win it on the mid to long range like they have been doing all season while playing the same tight D they played in the LAL series and G5 and G6 of the POR series. OKC will continue to look for Durant and Westbrook will keep doing his thing. It will be a pretty average scoring series in the 90 - 100 range and a close one at that.

That’s going to be the key I think, rebounding and turnovers. If OKC can get out in transition they are too quick for the Mavs to stop. If the Mavs can keep it a half court game and execute their zone, they will win easily.

Also the Harden vs Terry matchup (I think I maybe read that OKC is going to start Harden though?). If the Mavs play matchup zone on Westbrook, Harden is going to get open looks that he needs to knock down, assuming Westbrook shows up and not Chuckbrook.

Y’all are some silly bitches. Especially Greggers.

OMER!!!

did not play today.

My buddy is a die hard Miami fan. Yes, he is from Miami.

I am a Miami fan too, following them since rivalry days with the Knicks…but I can be more objective. I tell my buddy that Bosh needs to start acting like a fucking big man. He’s too weak and he’s not aggressive enough. He disagrees and says Bosh is fine. I say neigh.

And MIA needs to get rid of Miller and Dampier.

Durant led in scoring what, 2 years in a row?

And Rose is much more inefficient, I believe…but I haven’t compared stats, to be fair. I do know Rose can be super inefficient.

I enjoy watching Rose and I think he’s unreal. But you’d rather build a franchise around Durant than Rose?
PonceDeLeon wrote:

I cringe every time Miller gets his hands on the ball. It’s like that feeling you get when you’re playing a pickup game and you accidentally pass to the sucky guy on your team.

I’m not a big fan of Bibby either.

I wouldn’t say that Boston barely scraped past the Knicks. Sure the Knicks could’ve easily won the first 2, but 3 and 4 weren’t even games. They were embarrassments. I live 20 minutes from the Garden and I can tell you that was the sentiment of all the people I know in this area. Embarrassment.

Now before I get labeled a bandwagoneer because of my avatar, I’m not a Heat fan. Mostly because of Lebron. Wade is however my favorite player. That being said, I like the Heat better than the Bulls, OKC, or Mavs.

Man, I love the “by default” fans

I dont’ get people who are loyal to a team and won’t watch a series that their team isn’t in. I just want to see some good BALL, period. I don’t get those people.

So you’ve watched all other NBA games but haven’t watched since the Lakers lost?

What?
