2010-2011 NBA Season 3.0

Okay guys it’s over time for bed.

Rudy Gay looks disappointed as hell on the sidelines, hope to see him come back strong next year without messing up this new chemistry the team has found.

Look’s like Bosh finally woke the fuck up. I was just about to post some nasty shit about him after the 1st quarter lol. Hope he stays involved like this for the rest of the playoffs. I predicted Celtics in the Eastern Finals before the playoffs started but without a 100% Rondo, it’s not going to happen. They would’ve won last nights game if he was 100%.

Fuck West coast games. I wake up for work at 6am EST. OKC was down by double digits when I decided to go to sleep at around 11. Then I check up on this thread and find out it went to triple OT? Fuckin sucks.

I was just about to go to bed, then Brooks went small and put Durant at the 4 and it was so unexpected I decided to see if it was brilliant or stupid. Couldn’t stop watching then.

Scj, you see the Wiz’ new uniforms? They look pretty sharp. And just to reiterate, this has been a fucking awesome playoffs.

We have a winner.

Also, ABSOLUTELY LOVE that new gif/avatar btw. I remember getting goosebumps the first 50x I saw MJ’s intensity (and anger at Xavier McDaniels) during that sequence. And here’s the context and audio for that exact clip (its at ~2:00/5:56 but this whole clip is about that classic series)

Yeah they are awesome throwbacks…all they gotta do is change the name back to the Bullets now

^^^ I love those old Jordan vids. Come Fly With Me is probably one of my top 10 favorite movies, haha.

Seriously, that clip illustrates something I wanted to bring up after the Lakers series. I don’t know if it’s today’s players overall mindset or what, but NO ONE would’ve thought about quitting on Jordan the way they did on Bryant. If they had, there might’ve been a literal homocide in the Bulls locker room. And, as much as I love Bryant’s game, that is the major difference between the two. Jordan would’ve gone down swinging and would’ve been a whole different kind of livid at his team. I’m sure Bryant’s pissed and talking with management, but after the 1st quarter of game 4 he just stopped pushing 'cause he saw his team had quit on him. Maybe I’m being too hard on him, or maybe it is today’s players mindset, but that shit wouldn’t have flown on those Bulls teams with Jordan at the helm.

Bynum got 5 games.

Man, how about Derri… I mean Taj Gibson closing this out with 8 of his 10 points coming late in the 4th(1:17 to go as I type this). Not the Bulls big I would’ve expected to take a load off Rose’s shoulders with the game winding down.

A lot of people are saying he should have got more games suspended and a steeper fine. The question inevitably asked is will the punishment given deter him from playing like that ever again. Consensus is that it won’t but who really knows, sometimes the embarrassment alone is a strong enough of a deterrent, especially for someone like Bynum who has that ‘dirty’ image stapled on to him now.

What really kind of stands out to me are the people who are coming out of the woodwork proclaiming how this latest incident with Bynum proves how the NBA is a thuggish league littered with unclassy stupid gangsters. And as if that generalisation wasn’t bad enough some are even taking shots at the NBA as becoming irrelevant, this in the midst of booming playoff ratings. These people, apparently trending towards becoming “former fans” as I read one guy’s comment, are starting to to hate the NBA more and more. This in my opinion is laughable. What they’re saying is that they were fans of the NBA before Bynum knocked down JJ but now they hate it. So love of basketball doesn’t really factor into anything regarding being an NBA fan? Some people use incidents like this as an avenue to spew out shit that’s been dangling in the back of their mind for an extended period of time. Not only that but it’s also fuel for these subjective, usually highly generalised opinions to take them to new sensationalised states.

People who ride the fucking trend of what mass media (read: NON-expert) says are the same as bandwagoners. They are charlatans serving as sounding boards for ignorant, baseless opinion to reverberate in social circles, and they echo such horseshit so they can be identified as “the expert” by their fellow non-fan friends and acquaintances.

Sports has always had “dirty” / low points. If players weren’t passionate, they’d never get dirty. If they get dirty, we know emotions are volatile and it’s a serious fucking game.

Great fucking playoffs. Thunder-Griz went triple OT?! What the fuck. Durantula and Westbrook went nuts.

Man, I wish we could rent out some big fucking room (like the ESPN Sports Center spot in SoCal) with several massive flat screens and bottomless pitchers (and titties)…and just drink and talk shit.

Of course he should’ve gotten more, he did the same goddamn thing 2 years ago.

The guy should miss a solid month of the season.

He did it 2 months ago on Michael Beaseley. Beasley left the game.

After colllapsing a guys lung and knocking another player out of the game, it’s obvious he does this to hurt people. 5 games is way too lenient.

Any and every fan of the NBA must read this fantastic piece on Brian Shaw:

As a Bay Area resident, I’m a loyal Warriors fan. After reading this article though (and as a UC Santa Barbara Alumni), I will root for Brian Shaw wherever he steps next even if that is into the lead position of the Lakers coaching staff.

The fact that people are even outraged about this is a sign of how many people are watching, and how much more popular the NBA is than it has been recently.

That aside, Bynum should’ve gotten more than 5 games because of his history. I youtubed his shots on Wallace and Beasley and they were eerily similar. Leads with his forearm. Kid has issues.

I just watched those. He should’ve gotten at least 10 games.

Knowing Bynum he probably wants more time off at the start of next season.

But yeah all jokes aside he deserves worse, 10- 15 games IMO. And a fine.
