But in his mind he thought things would get better for him because:
He was not playing in another country
He was playing in a major market
He was playing on a contender
He probably thought his talent was on par with Wade and Lebron and people would eventually see that. Instead people are realizing really how big of a talent gap there is between Wade/Lebron and Bosh. I’m talking about the the casual fan here.
The same sort of situation (not exactly) happened with Damon Stoudemire and Tracy McGrady.
Things only got worse for Damon Stoudemire once he left and he eventually acknowledged it was a mistake leaving Toronto.
If T-Mac and Vince stayed together they would’ve had at least made the finals IMO. What do they have to show for their careers?
Vince has been to the Conference Finals in a supportive role. T-mac hasn’t even gotten that far.
EDIT: I’m sure there’s an expression out there for this that’s just not coming to mind but : People don’t know how good they have it until it’s gone.
I hope Phil goes to a Kobe-Artest-Odom-Gasol-Bynum matchup and forces Carlisle’s hand. I really think he could dictate favorable matchups and not give up much on D because of Kobe and Artest’s versatility.
Hubie Brown and Mike Tirico are awesome. Maybe the best in the game right now. Bryant’s being aggressive [like I hoped] but everyone else is just kinda standing around. On two of his passes his teammates looked like they didn’t want the ball after he hit them in stride, and one of 'em was stripped. Hope they don’t leave him out there to do it alone.

I’m telling you, he’s more trouble than he’s worth. He occasionally makes big plays, but if you look at the course of the game he’s made so many boneheaded plays that he’s just trying to erase his own mistakes.

Now I KNOW you go to /sp/
Haha yep!
When this thread gets slow…
I’m not a fan of /b/ though.
Nobody over the age of 12 should be a fan of /b/. I go to /sp/ most of the time then a close second would be /fit/ and /s/ Fuck the other boards. /ck/ is starting to intrest me now though.

I didn’t like when Hubie said “Jason Kidd is a known great defender” and rattled off his All-defense teams. You don’t have to pretend he’s still in his 20’s Hubie.
In general they are way better than most pairs though

No argument here, who else are they going to play in his place though? Would you rather those minutes go to Brown/Barnes? Or are you just longing for the days of Ariza haha
Even if you play Odom at the 3, him/pau/bynum can’t play 48 minutes, gotta have Artest in there some of the time I think. They painted themselves into a corner w/ him
I’m surprised Gasol isn’t able to do anything against Nowitzki. I think Dirk is a lot stronger than we give him credit for. I would pound it to Pau repeatedly and try to get Nowitzki in foul trouble… but if he’s going to be passive like this, it doesn’t work.
