Wow that was an irritating game. They shut down Kobe and Gasol and could have easily won with a few free throw makes.
“could have easily won with a few free-throw makes”? NO lost by 9 brah
You obviously didn’t watch the game. If you did you would have noticed NO missing an annoying number of free throws and not just on fouls but also on flagrant fouls and techs. If NO had shot even like 80% from the free throw line this game would have been really tight in the end.

Raj is right, Kobe and Gasol weren’t even scoring! It was a perfect (stress perfect) opportunity for NO to steal another game in LA. Unfortunately they missed free throws and were not aggressive, especially in the third quarter. I guess in the end it boils down to Monty Williams inexperience as a coach. It goes to show how important the ‘little things’ are, as Reggie Miller says.

The game was ugly, no question about that. You could see why LA is the more polished team; they scored and made plays when they needed to.

If NO can get game 3 this will turn into an interesting series…
Literally almost none of what you posted has anything to do with what I said. Of course I watched the game.

Raj said “they could have easily won if the made a few freethrows”

You said “if NO had shot like even 80% from the free throw line this game would have been really tight”

HUGE difference.

NO shot 63% from the line and LA shot 68% from the line… Both teams didn’t shoot freethrows well.

NO would have had to have shot 94% from the line to won the game. 10 more freethrows isn’t “easily won the game if they made a few more freethrows”
I had a feeling you would use those stats. This is one the cases stats don’t paint the whole picture. NO shot like 10-12 more free throws than LA, so they had a lower % on a higher number of attempts. Secondly, and probably more importantly, they had these awful stretches in the game, especially the fourth quarter where they missed all their free throws. Missing free throws when you’re trying to get back into a game just drains your confidence and ruins your rhythm.

NO had a great chance to steal this game.

lol. NBA is boring as shit until the last quarter (if it’s a close game). truth.
lol sorry bro didn’t mean to offend your taste in sports. But there is a reason the NBA is the 2nd most popular pro sports league in the US…

Besides, when you have a 2 time championship team most of the time there’s no reason to make a big change like that. Just minor ones like getting Blake and Barnes, etc.
I really think this is the biggest reason why they didn’t pursue 'Melo. The first argument is kind of disrespectful to both Melo and Kobe, it assumes they’re robots incapable of making changes in order to win. If you have them being the two of the best players in the world you have to give them the benefit of the doubt that they could make it work; to adjust their roles accordingly to make the team successful. You’re probably seeing that with the Heat right now.

Too bad Pacers.

But damn that last bucket by Rose was killer

Dallas should have bagged that win. Horrible from free throws, JTs soft tech foul, Chandler fouled out in 15 minutes of play, poor defensive and offensive effort in the first 6 min of the 1st giving away 5 cheap turnovers and letting Portland drop 18 easy points, Haywood just not very pleasing to watch and not as strong under the basket as he could be. A few questionable calls by the refs too.

Not gonna deny it, Portland deserved that win at home and they played well. Mavs give me such a headache from game to game. lol

If you’re merely interested in who wins the game, then that makes sense.

But if you enjoy watching the game itself, the ball handling and creativity, passing and athleticism, then there’s plenty to watch throughout.

No different than hockey really, in that respect…
hehe. I’m just fucking around. I’m a big b-ball player myself and enjoy watching it. I’ve just been a bit annoyed with how the Bulls are playing. Shit has been so god damn boring.

Unless you are a Chicago fan and not just them being your “playoff team” I don’t know how you cannot cheer for this Pacers team.

Same goes with the NO Hornets.

Both these teams are playing their asses off and no one gave them ANY chance.
Fuck Indiana. Indiana is gay. Only good thing that came from the Pacers is good ol’ Reggie Miller.

and popular music on the radio is bad.

I hope I have succeeded in getting a rise out of someone.

This has already changed, though. 2 years ago most people I knew would say LBJ>Kobe, now it’s the other way around. And it’s the same guys.

Everything changed last year in the playoffs, and then it was cemented with the Decision. There are still a lot of people that hate him [black sheep superstar has a nice ring to it, btw], but the respect for his game is at an all time high.

At least from my observations.
Maybe we’re listening to different people, 'cause for the most part what I hear is people making excuses for WHY Bryant has achieved so much without giving credit to the fact that HE is the one common denominator. Also, I should’ve patented 'black sheep superstar", haha. Oh, and to the guy who asked about Skip Bayless: I have no idea how that guy got his job. He and Doug Gottlieb [sp?] are two of the worst sports journalists I’ve ever heard. I’d be surprised if stats showed that they were right even 20% of the time.

^Only a matter of time before the Blackhawks are out.

NHL Playoffs usually are more exciting than the NBA Playoffs, especially the first round. But not this year. Usually the NBA playoffs are boring in the first round but it’s been great this year.

I still chose to watch the Habs-Bruins game instead of the Bulls-Pacers game last night. I wish I hadn’t :(.

Well in any event the tide is turning I’d say :D. If the Lakers win it this year it’ll be undeniable. GO BULLS!

lulz… anyone else notice that reggie seems to have a worsening lisp lately?

the Bulls Pacers series could end up being the most un-telling/deceiving sweep of all time. Its probably gonna be 4-0 Bulls when it very easily could have been 4-0 Pacers had they not blown it in the 4th quarter of every game. Pretty crazy

Depending on tonight it could also be the Knicks Celts as well
