I laughed at that inbounds play. You know Kobe was pissed, being made to look like the high schooler there.

This could be an epic series! I’m going out downtown Saturday night…I’ll probably get shot if the Nuggets lose.[/quote]

Haha, Yeah. Kobe DID NOT like that!

holy fuckn shit… just when you thought magics will be up 2-0… MVP made a clutch 3 to win the game…

Amazing.

That was an amazing clutch shot by LeBron to win the game. But Cleveland still has matchup problems.

were all witnesses!!! let me repeat, WERE ALL WITNESSES!!!

reality check… lebron is great and all, but we are at witnesses to the fact that the Cavs nearly the first two home games of this series…

MAYBE lebron will survive this series, and if so, MAYBE he can avoid being SWEPT like the last time he was in the finals

no hate here, just a kobe fan talking

Time for Cleveland fans to be in full force mistake-by-the-lake mode. Sure LeBron hit that shot to win the game, but now we’ve blown a 17 point lead in game 1 and a 23 point lead in game 2. Gonna add “The 2nd Half Defense(or lack thereof)” to “The Shot” “The Fumble” and “Jose Mesa.” That’s why we’re Cleveland =[.

Yeah, I crapped myself, but didn’t think that series was supposed to be so close.

heh, you’ve actually gotta wait till the 2010-11 season, FightinIrish.

Anyway, looking fwd to tonight’s West Finals. There hasn’t been a meaningful LAL game like this one since last June.

Game 7 against the Rockets doesn’t count? Sure it ended up being not close but I don’t see how a game 7 in any capacity(you could be going home) has less meaning than a game 3. Being the team that is up 2-1 usually leads to series victory, but being the team up 4-3 means you won, isn’t that more meaningful?

Kobe = Clutch defined tonight. But this series is far from over.

No. That series was never in question once Yao joined McGrady in streetclothes.

LBJ’s shot was great, but the Cavs have bigger issues to worry about, like why they blew double digit leads in games 1 and 2. If it’s wasn’t for LeBron’s shot, the Cavs could be down 2-0 (and now 3-0 after ORL won today). LeBron is a superstar and his job is to make big plays, so in essence, he was really just doing his job.

Nice win by LAL Saturday night, good game til the end. Kobe coming up big for the Lakers, but a lot of ball left to be played.

ORL is looking better and better every game. Superman coming through big on FT’s tonight, and the Magic are really taking it to the Cavs. Best time of the year.

Haven’t checked in for a while, but here’s my quick thoughts on LAL-Den, from the Laker’s perspective:

Good News: You’re split 2-2 after four, and that’s still “winning” when you’ve got HC. You didn’t put your foot down when you had the chance, but you’re still holding serve.

Good News: Denver has consistently had long 2nd half stretches where they play some ridiculous (in a bad way) basketball. LAL will have windows down the stretch to either get back in it or pull away.

Good News: You can’t like Denver’s odds if Anthony continues to play as badly as he has for the last couple of games.

Bad News: Kobe must go absolutely nuts for LAL to have any shot at winning any single game. If Kobe is relatively pedestrian, the Lakers will lose by double-digits. That’s asking an awful lot of a player, even one as good as Kobe.

As for the East, I’d be very surprised if Cleveland came back to win the series. There’s not much more LeBron can do, but the Cavs are still one miracle shot away from being down 0-3. His teammates need to step it up big-time, or Cleveland’s season will be over shortly.

It’s always tough to say that a whole season comes down to one (non-elimination) game in a seven game series but I think Cleveland’s whole season comes down to how they play tonight. The rest of LBJ’s teammates need a gut check. They are lucky they aren’t down 0-3. Still tonight is crucial. If they go down 3-1 I don’t see how they come back. If they get out of Orlando 2-2 then they are right back in it. I’ll be watching that’s for sure.

LAL needs to help Kobe out. He’s a great player, but he can’t do it by himself. His teammates need to help him out and everyone needs to start making FTs. I think Kobe has to take over this series for LAL to advance. He did have 34 last night, but didn’t shoot well.

I agree with DD and am interested to see how CLE plays tonight. Even if they do win and tie the series, they still have bigger issues and need to play better overall as a team for them to advance.

DEN and ORL are looking great, and the key is that both these teams are getting production from a lot of guys, unlike Kobe and LeBron basically doing it by themselves.

How pissed will David Stern be if there is a Denver vs Orlando finals?

For serious basketball fans only:
Keep an eye out for this in the next Cavs/Magic game: Lebron CANNOT shoot when dribbling and/or running to his right. I will probably jinx him by posting this but in the last game he only hit ONE outside shot, and it was when he was going to his left. He is MONEY when going to his left (e.g. the GAME-WINNER in game 2!), but I think the Magic figured this out and have been forcing him to go right when he shoots. Knowing my luck he will probably be draining everything tonight (I’m a Magic fan), but it is a little nuance which will destroy the Cavs if Orlando can keep it up.

There have been far too many foul calls in the conference finals. All teams involved. It has become difficult to watch. I don’t even care that they’re right or wrong at this point, there are just too many.
