What did they say about your prolactin being so high ?

Strange really. Whilst he was checking me up I mentioned my concerns about it and he said ‘don’t worry, we’ll sort that out’, then later on he said it was just due to stress and dismissed it.

I am 21 years old and I have the same problem. Thanks for the inpu.

thats doctors for you…

Would it be silly of me to take an anti Oesterogen and something to lower the prolactin levels to see what happens?

Ive heard that having chronically high E2 levels will lead to elevated prolactin.

Long time but I have just had some more bloods done:

Prolactin: 834 mIU/L (ref 70 - 538)
Testosterone: 17.4 nmol/L (ref 8.0 - 29.0)
FSH: 2.2 iu/L (1.4 - 18.1)
LH: 9.0 iu/L (1.5 - 9.3)
Oestradiol: 127 pmol/L (ref 50-200)

------------ Questions ---------------

Getting bloods re-tested again next week but looks like I could have a prolactinoma?

Is there anything else that can effect the production of prolactin?

My understanding is that prolactin inhibits testosterone so if I was prescribed an Dopamine-Receptor Agonist such as Dostinex (Cabergoline) would my testosterone and FSH go up?

I’m not very well educated on the subject but by looking at my LH level, it appears I have the capability of producing a good amount of testosterone?

Here bro read this. Prolactin

Your lh is awesome. Best I have seen I think

Need some context like your age. See the advice for new guys sticky.

Progesterone: That can repress HPTA function. Might not be an answer.

E2=34, too high

FSH:LH very odd.
If doing an MRI, if there is an adinoma, I would be a but suspicious that it also is LH secreting. But that is very rare.

But one would want to repeat labs before getting too deep in some considerations.

Lots of reading:

Yes, one would expect caber to increase LH, FSH and T. If prolactin goes down, perhaps high LH would normalize, so things might not be predictable.

It wasn’t suggesting progesterone was an answer it was a link about prolactin and causes.

I’m 20 years old - sorry, forgot to mention that all my info is on the first post of the thread.

Previous bloods before last, I had a LH level of 5.9 and FSH = 2.1 again.

What could be causing the high E2?
