Did you try HIT? I train twice a week for 30 to 45 minutes. Other than that I just walk every day, but I would not consider that exercise.
Athletes don’t train as much as you because they wouldn’t get enough rest. There has to be a balance between the two. You know this … I guess you like being stubborn lolls…
Maybe you jsut find escape with the gym and that’s why you are going so often? What ya training for?
The fact that you are on Trt means you will see gains faster than most and don’t need as much volume. Trust in the hormones.
Also be realistic my brother. You had a week tapering down and only lowered by 10mg. Realistically this probably did not cause the benefits in BP. Unless I’m mistaken and someone else can attest to that causing such a quick change.
I bet Changing everything else did. I would stay at 180 and keep a higher free t to support my training and continue fixing sleep and training. Your hct and etc are great you could probably go to 200 without many issues. More free t !!! Faster recovery = faster gains.
I go to the gym 4 to 5 days a week for an hour and have seen nice changes in my body. I’ve lost so much fat and out on so mich muscle. in about 3 months my tummy is gone and six packs showing. In 6-10 months I expect to be lean and ripped. I still eat what I want and just watch my calories , sugars, bad fats and eat real foods. I recover overnight for almost everything. I sleep 8 hours. I was at the gym last night and did a big amount of weight on the leg press x 10 and about 100 reps. Eeked them out and today i barely feel it. My free t is in the 20s and I think that’s why recovery is quick.
If lifestyle helped with Bp it’s not the oil.
Gym is definitely an escape for me (in addition to a hobby and lifestyle).
My BP drop: yeah who knows, I’m sure it was partially me having a panic attack. If I stay low over the next few weeks, I may titrate dosage up again and see what happens.
However, I’m not sure how much more performance I could / should try to eke out hormonally. I am training a lot, and quite hard. I am pretty yoked (not compared to serious bodybuilders, but for an athlete) and my BF is around 8%. I think my best bet for more performance would be adding more rest. I am only getting 6 hours of sleep a night and with 2 a days, that’s not enough. A professional athlete who was training like I am would be aiming for 8,9,10 hours of sleep. That’s really the holdup for me; I don’t think more test is a long term solution for me to improve my athletic performance.
This is a big focus for me in life: how do I really optimize my performance/rest balance, and see exactly what I’m capable of. It’s harder than it seems to figure out. I push really hard, I get results, but I’m sure there might be a better way. That’s a totally different topic though.
You need a coach that can help and guide.
@physioLojik is the man . A real endocrinologist and coach
Could not agree more. My “if I won the lottery” fantasies involved a lot of daydreaming about the regimen of coaches, nutritionists, etc I would hire.
You could go to Athlenex and use his plans ![]()
I actually do get a bunch of tips from him. Some useful stuff.
Hey all - just got new labs (attached), and my estrogen is fairly high (34.9 pg/mL, range 8.0-35.0).
Never messed with AIs, but considering it now. Not sure what impacts the high e2 is causing; my erection quality is somewhat poor and libido isn’t great, but I chalk that up to the antidepressants I’m taking, and I offset it with Cialis. I’m definitely VERY moody, but I attributed that to other chemical imbalances I have (see the antidepressants). Basically, I have a bunch of high e2 symptoms, but I haven’t been thinking about them as a result of the e2.
I’ve always been really reluctant to incorporate AIs (don’t want to introduce a new and powerful drug). But I’ve also never needed one, never had e2 this high.
I’m doing a consult with Defy later today, so I can get their input on managing e2, but anyone here have input? I tend to trust people here as much (or more) than I do the Defy nurses.
I’d say that with a TT of 1100+ and a FT of 22+ and E2 of 34 is probably just right if not a little low.
Have you talked to your doc about your thyroid? Thats a little high.
35 E2 isn’t high.
I’d be more worried about thyroid… TSH is getting up there and ft4 is quite low. Need to test ft3 but yeah, I’d be looking at that and the anti depressants more than anything
If you didn’t know what “high e2” symptoms were, would you still have the same issues? For most people, the answer is no. For the few that would say yes, most of those would have no symptoms after a couple of weeks. No AI’s needed, just time.
@NH_Watts @ncsugrad2002 Thanks guys. You’re right, the thyroid numbers are my main focus right now. I totally forgot to mention, I am on a compounded T3/T4 pill. I’m switching to Armour Thyroid now (as opposed to the compounded pill), and will see if that improves things. Thyroid has been a main focus for me for the past 6 months or so. @NH_Watts I need to see a separate endo about my thyroid, I’m not 100% confident that Defy is ideal for this.
Regarding E2: yes, you guys are right about the E2, in the context of 1100+ TT, 22+ FT. I wasn’t looking at the ratio, I was just looking at my past E2 numbers and the “average” mid-high 20’s that I see lots of guys report. I am going to leave this as is; I have a scrip for .125mg anastrozole per week, but I will probably just let it go and see if I can adjust other things to help with mood / erection quality. @ncsugrad2002 you’re right - if I wasn’t thinking about the “high E2 symptoms,” I probably wouldn’t consider it a problem factor for me. And the symptoms I have (moody etc) are probably just cause I’m…moody.
Thanks again, really appreciate the input.
Good guidance above. You definitely want to get on armour thyroid my friend. It did wonders for me. It removed my fatigue and depression in days time.
