Perhaps I am saying the same thing as you intended, but Ovidrel is absolutely identical to what HCG has always been. The precise same thing. The difference is the manner of producing it: bacteria instead of pregnant women.
I didn’t know that, thanks Bill.
Bill Thanks for always being on top of things!
Does this mean it will be cheaper since its produced by bacteria?
What do you think about the “improved” clomid.
How exactly is it “improved”?
Production cost could be moderate, as is the case with recombinant insulin, but as to whether that means a cheaper price, I don’t know.
Very often molecules exist in isomers, for example cis (where a double bond exists, the chains on each side angling off in a _/ type arrangement) and trans (the chains angling off to opposite sides.)
Usually for drug molecules the cis and trans forms have either different potencies or somewhat different activities or side effects.
Commonly it is cheaper to manufacture the mixture, or at a given point in time it may be feasible only to manufacture the mixture.
Clomid is a mixture of the cis and trans forms of clomiphene. The new drug is still clomiphene, but is only one of the isomers. It is claimed to work better. I really haven’t looked into it beyond seeing the claim.
