TRH and increasing TSH can causes a rise in prolactin, people with primary hypothyroidism can see an increase in TRH which then increases prolactin.
I know. I just wanted to add another reason into his definitive list that couldnāt be added to by us forum docs.
Hypo = Slow
TSH up means slow, or under active.
my TSH was 1.8
What does that mean? LOL
I really hate how the replying to a particular post doesnāt show up correctly on this forum mostly the time. Makes it really tough to what you are responding to
Im responding to @equel who somehow believes since his thyroid was not suppressed everything said is irrelevant lol
TSH is the least reliable biomarker, so when you say my TSH was 1.8, it doesnāt mean anything without thyroid hormone testing beside it. There was a member with full blown hypothyroidism at a TSH at 2.7, his fT3 was abnormally low 6 weeks after starting TRT, pre-TRT his TSH was <2.0.
Having a good TSH never guarantees you have optimal fT3/rT3 ratios, just like how there is secondary hypogonadism, if you had secondary hypothyroidism which is a pituitary failure and not a gland failure.
The communication between pituitary gland and thyroid must be optimal, I think a lot of men struggling on TRT have a little bit of both secondary hypogonadism and secondary hypothyroidism where they overlap unseen by laboratory testing.
A normal TSH is 1-1.5 in people who are healthy, these EDCās are interfering with pituitary function increasing TSH to abnormal levels and is interfering with the HPTA function.

what are u talking about?
@equel - Based on a trusted endo who used to post on this site, more testosterone doesnāt decrease SHBG.
I mean mine went from 150 to 90 after I started TRT. Maybe just a coincidence? I donāt know.
My doc told me insulin sensitivity increases on TRT. Maybe there is an indirect relationship between SHBG and testosterone, but Iām not sure itās as black and white as saying more test = lower SHBG.
I doubt itās that simple either.
When we start TRT it does lower shbg in men
You may inject too much testosterone, maybe you did not stay long enough on the dosage appropriate for you, and I suggest due to the high prolactin you have hypo function of the thyroid. Do you have thyroid labs?
More testosterone doesnāt decrease SHBG, testosterone cypionate does decrease SHBG on TRT in just about everyone because I have seen it occur day after day for the last 3 years.
How else can you explain a guy with high SHBG (68) all of a sudden 6 weeks later their SHBG is cut in half?
If TRT didnāt suppress SHBG, these men would never see FT increase at all and they would be screwed for life.
Thats so weird, as my shbg decreased from 24 to 13 a few weeks after testo gel, and now with 20mg prop, its 9!
If I am recalling properly he just got off an ai. He hasnāt even given it enough time. He raised his dose recently. Thatās if heās following the suggestions of someone he consulted. I asked the same person if heād seen this post and he said āyah I spoke to him
And he just changed his protocolāā¦
I wish people could just be clear and straightforward when asking for help.
Itās called taking a left instead of going the right way. Takes a lot longer to get there if you take a left.
