1st Labs on TRT

Here are my latest labs.

The test was taken in the afternoon, just before my injection.
Since my last update I’ve been injecting EOD, still on 125mg a week.
So far everything’s going good, I’ have got a job and I’ve got a bit of energy. The only issue would be that my libido is still pretty low.
Would trying everyday injections be worth a try?

I have totally missed your prolactin the last time. First forget it can go so high from ejaculation. It is seriously elevated and there is a medical reasons for that.

On your place I would like to see why prolactin is so high. It can directly screw libido. YOurs is really high. Have you done pituitary NMRi? It is possible you have adenom or empty sella syndrome. I have empty sella and Im taking caber for 10 months now it has improved my libido even before TRT

You can try ED, but better focus on the prolactin and investigate there. You need to do NMR

Hey mate, i saw an endo before my current doctor and he said that he believed it was high because of stress in regards to getting the blood test.
He got me to go to to pathology and get a test, one 20 minutes later, and another 20 more minutes later. The prolactin went down each time and ended up being in the middle of the range.
I’ll ask my current Dr about this though in a few weeks.

Im not sure how relavant is this test. I know prolactin can be increased by stress, but so much…not sure.

I think you should arrange NMR to be sure even if you have to pay for it. I would do it in all costs in your place. Because if you have something in your pituitary you have to approach it. Doctors often underestimate possible underlying causes. I wouldnt trust most of them for that. I asked them a few times about NMR. They said no need. And when I did it on my own judgement I discovered empty sella.

Are my levels high enough or would there potentially be some benefits of raising the dose?

If you’re not benefiting at these levels, then somethings else is going on.

I think your low libido has more to do with excess levels. I think if you going higher and you might see libido even lower. I still think you should be on daily with your SHBG at 12 and half the Free T levels.

I’m also on escitalopram, so that may be the reason for low libido.
I’ve seen people here for and against daily injections based on shbg. I suppose the only way to find out for myself is to try it.

Natural production plus insufficient exogenous T = wonderful

Crashed natural production plus insufficient exogenous = why don’t I feel good anymore?

This comes up all the time. It’s been explained to death. It’s the most logical thing ever. Yet everyone over complicates it.

Sigh.

So you are saying that my levels are still possibly too low?

Not saying with certainty but I’ve seen it literally hundreds of times.

The solution is simple - you try a bit more and then assess if you feel better or worse. It’s that simple.

Total T of 1070 ng/dL and a calculated freeT of 37 ng/dL which is almost 1.5 times higher than the ref range. That’s supraphysiological already.

I also experienced it very hardly. The moment your natural t stops, no matter your blood levels seems the organism goes into shock and you start to feel terrible. For me it lasted 4-5 days, within a week I was feeling good again. @johann77 not everything is lab numbers and studies

Thats because its not about blood levels. Its about balance. When natural youre body knows exactly how to maintain this balance. When you inject t it it struggles to find that balance.

@johann77 I understand this, but when his levels were higher due to the addition of his natural production he felt better. His numbers have now dropped and he has symptoms.

So what do we do here? “Sorry bud, but your numbers are already too ‘high’?”

@GSX250 I think you literally pull this nonsense out of your ass. The only one struggling here is you.

No, the body is not ‘struggling’ when taking exogenous T. If anything, it struggles when you have an androgen deficiency.

Maybe i missed something but his levels are now the highest they have ever been.

@johann77 You are absolutely correct. I did miss something.

@danielsan30005 you stated that you are feeling better but libido is still a bit low. Your levels are up there at this point for sure. My suggestion is to give things more time and allow these higher levels of T to have an effect on the body. If months pass with still no improvement at those levels, then perhaps testosterone is not the issue here.

The body struggles to maintain that delicate balance with injections. We have to manually help it find that balance through altering doses and injection frequencies etc.

If I eat too much food I get fat. If I don’t eat enough, I get skinny.

Therefore, the body struggles with food also. We have to manually help it find that balance through altering doses.

You can use that approach for everything and insist that the body is always struggling.

No, the body isn’t struggling.
