I was looking at where the crack is and I’m thinking it’s more likely to break closing the belt than mid lift. But I won’t be going too heavy on squat till I do get a new lever.

How good are DBs for improving bench. I’ve only just started flat benching with DBs with the marjority of DB bench being Incline previously. Anticipating those gains

I like them a lot. Most days after I do bench and one back exercise I’ll do Db press and shoot for two max rep sets with a decent amount of weight. Usually 100 to 140s. Idk if I’m right or not but I feel it helps with getting the bar off the chest on bench.

Not sure exactly how it works but they focus the chest more. Meant to be longer ROM and stretch but touching the DBs to my chest it’s not really. Maybe it’s in how freely the DBs can move

Yea I get less rom because i bring the edge of the Db to my pec. Maybe similar to a 1 board which would help a low sticking point

Went heavy and the belt held up. Hit a new reverse band rep pr with 595x2 after a set of 575x3. Bands took 70 lbs off in the hole. Will add the clips to the post today.

New lever is being shipped today. Should have it within the week. Was told two day shipping.

Benched today. Top sets were 330x5 and 365x2.
Mid way through the 330 I figured I’d hit 6 but came down weird on my left side on the fifth rep and didn’t want to grind a rep. Bench is moving nicely. I’ll attach the clips tomorrow I’m tired as hell right now.

Still need to put up the bench clips. Did deadlifts followed by squats today. Nothing great but pulling mid and upper 600s for reps and still squatting 495 for reps after is pretty good. Deadlifted up to 645x7 and 685x3 then squatted up to 495x4 with a rep in the tank. Legs are fairly tired from the last two squat days since they were big sets for me. Didn’t record any of today.

Thinking somewhere between 565-575 for a single on squat Saturday. Going to see how I feel the day of but sofar squat has been feeling really good lately. Id love to take a Crack at 600 in sleeves in the next few months. I also heard there may be a tested uspa meet in nj in June. If so I will more than likely be in it.

This morning I started with Db press. 50,65,80,95,110,130s for sets of 10. Weighted pullups sets of 8 with 13,26,39,53,66 and a set of 6 with 79lb kettle bells. Benched up to a paused single with 350 and 360 after all that and it still moved well. I’ve been taking fish oil and animal flex joint supplement and joints have been feeling great. Even in the cold weather and early morning lifting. Might be the thing I needed to push my lifts that little bit more.

I got my new lever already. Don’t know exactly when it was delivered cause I didn’t have an email for some reason. They left it at my front door and I always use my side door. At least it wasn’t sitting there while i was using the cracked one to lift.

Hit an all time pr in sleeves today. 575, not as easy as my 570 a few months back but 5 lbs more. I’ll take it. This is 7lb over my best wrapped squat in comp.

Edit : so happy with the squat forgot to mention deads. Worked up to 595 plus 200 lbs of band for a set of 4 on a stiff bar. Two sets of 25 Pullups just bodyweight and some other stuff.

Benched up to 340x4 today. Don’t know why but the fourth really slowed down. They were moving great and a lift off might have been close to 5. Hit Weighted Pullups sets of 8with 15,26,41,53,68, and might have been 94 lbs but only 5 on that one. Dumbbell pressed 105 , 120 and 130s for sets of 10. Did some db rows and some close grip Bench also.

supplement company sponsorship incoming

Lol nah I looked for over a year with no luck in getting sponsored. I told myself if I took any records and wasn’t sponsored by anyone by that time then I don’t want any. Out of nowhere a guy I barely knew asked me to be part of his team. He said he saw how much weight I’m lifting and I’m one of the strongest at my gym. Been part of ares nutrition now for a little while. It’s a local nj company.

Sounds like a cool business relationship when you know the people by name and face.

Tbh I don’t think a supp sponsorship is all that.

If you wanna make a little money off it it’ll be you scamming the fuck out a bunch of people saying supps is gains. If you wanna get famous(er) and/or influence people in a good way there’s aren’t too many companies or places with them to do that maybe the likes of Animal or Redcon

I’ve always just thought of it as another level. I don’t get paid and don’t want money. Just feels more professional having a sponsor. I can’t say supplements didn’t help cause I’ve taking a lot of stuff that has helped me. But a lot of stuff out there is crap. Things I can say actually worked for me is the creatine, fish oil/flex, cbd oil, and a high protein weight gainer I took for about 2 years to get from 185 to around 196 in that time. I haven’t taken anything else that I can say yea it works. O and preworkout but they are just loaded with caffeine.
