I am going to go out on a limb(mainly because I have no post count). And say it’s not smart to waste your most prime years of natural growth hormone, etc…and ‘take my gain slow’. You SHOULD weigh 185! Start eating 5 times a day, every day. Eat 300 grams of protein every day! Run less and do more squats. Eat 30,000 calories a week(less twinkies, more steak). Calories on any given day isn’t as important, it’s the average that matters, and changing your daily calories actually helps with fat.
Having that said, you’ve done a great job so far. Considering that you are 16 and used to be obese. Most kids wouldn’t have a clue at that age. I wish sites like this were around when I was 16.
On another note, at your age, telling your parents that you know what you need to eat better than they do might not even work. Three hundred grams of protein can be hard to come by when breakfast is fruit loops and lunch is the cafeteria food…good luck.
I’m willing to bet that you would’ve been taller if you didn’t go on your crazy starvation diet. Too bad, you can lose weight pretty much any time during your life, but if you’ve stopped growing you can’t do anything about your height.
Anyway, make the best out of it and start eating 3500kcal+ a day while doing heavy compound work. Maybe you’re lucky and you’re still growing in height.

If he’ll make gains on 2500 there’s no reason to eat 4000, he’ll just go fat again. To set an amount of Kcal for him to eat just knowing his weight is plain stupid.

OP, read this. I agree with what he’s saying…a caloric deficit in your growing age will STUNT your vertical growth.
Its stupid to try to lose weight when you haven;t finished growing, dude. Bring on the calories and protein now. you’re only 16 so you have another couple of years to hit 5’8"-5’10" or so.

why, oh why, did you go down to 51kg? I presumed you box competitively, but to go from 85kg to 51kg is madness.
Please keep putting on about 1lb week for the next 12-months… at least
i had anorexia[/quote]
Oh Shit! If that’s true then I think everyone on here, me included, needs to cut you some slack.
You really just need to make sure that you take care of yourself and do everything in moderation. I’m sure you know, but you must have a fairly addictive personality and you don’t want that to translate into exercise addiction or any other type of eating disorder.
Take the weight gain steady, don’t freak yourself if you put a bit of fat on and for fucks sake talk to someone if you start going down that road again

Ignore the stupid fucks on here first of all.
Glad to here you’re being sensible with the exercise, but don’t start to obsess about the body fat. Remember, if you want to get stronger then fat can be your friend. It’ll support your joints and improves the leverages for most compound lifts. Plus it’s VERY difficult to gain weight without some bodyfat.
