Most Israelis are fine with a two-state solution so long as that actually means that the Palestinian state will mind its own business and not just become a base for terrorists to use to attack Israel. Pre-October 7th, Gaza was already effectively independent internally. Israel invaded Gaza because it was clearly being used as a base to attack Israel. Nobody actually wants Gaza (not the Israelis, not the Egyptians, and it seems that Hamas doesn’t care either).
Al-Aqsa mosque exists in the holiest site of Judaism because the Israelis are willing to let Muslims have a piece of the world so long as that means the Israelis get a piece, too. Only one side refuses to actually negotiate in good faith towards a solution that would result in long term peace and coexistence.

The living conditions in Gaza were so bad that it created an opportunity for Hamas to take control, to solidify anti Israeli sentiment.

Well, I’m a white boy from Washington, so I don’t think it makes much difference. But for what it’s worth, only Israel is negotiating in good faith. Starting in 1948, there have been repeated offers of a two-state solution that Palestinians have turned down. Israel is fine with letting Palestine exist, but the reverse is not true.
Hamas was in control of Gaza. If it’s an open air prison, that’s because Hamas made it that way. The living conditions are bad because Hamas works to attack Israel instead of helping its own people.
Either Hamas is a government or it is a criminal organization. If it is a government, then it bears responsibility for the conditions of the people over whom it presides. If it is a criminal organization, it has no standing at all and should be destroyed forthwith. You can’t simultaneously argue that Hamas should be allowed to control Gaza, but Israel is responsible for the conditions in Gaza.
I mean, c’mon, does ANYONE really think that there can ever be true peace between Israel & Hamas (or, and I’ll say it, Muslims)? As the posts above have said, Israel is willing to allow such a situation, or at least is open to negotiation, but to Muslims, the very existence of Israel is simply unfathomable and they hate the existence of any jews. Then when you throw in the fact that over there in the sand, this tribal fighting has been going on for generations upon generations and from birth babies are taught to hate…how can you ever hope to change such brainwashed minds?
You could task the smartest minds in the world with solving this and they would never figure it out because one side ALWAYS finds something unacceptable about any proposed solution.
Maybe Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates could combine their insane wealth to offer like a $1 Billion dollar prize to whoever can figure out a living arrangement over there? BUT, one catch…the agreed upon living arrangement has to last for a certain amount of time with no violent bloodshed. Hell, even if the majority of people living over there were able to pull it off, you will NEVER be rid of the most hardcore, violent extremists…it only takes one well placed suicide bomber after all.
Also, fuck the ICC and their arrest warrants! If any other nation but Israel had been attacked like they were Oct. 7, say England was, do you think the world would not band together to support England and their hunt to eradicate those terrorists? The fact that it was Israel who was attacked, a state that elicits so many strong emotions of varying kinds depending on which country you ask, is the only reason why this is even occurring. We were attacked on 9/11 and no country was going to tell the US to stand down or not seek vengeance, but why is it okay for countries to tell Israel what to do in response to the horrific attacks it endured on 10/7?

Because no one wants to tell the truth about the Islamic world. I mean, when you see gays for Palestine you realize you are either dealing with some very low IQ people or no one is putting the truth out there. Slavery, still a Muslim thing. The subjugation of women, still a Muslim thing.
