Tell that to the Coca-Cola company in South America. Tell that to United Fruit.
Hate to tell you, but that entails limiting the private sector’s power. Everyone knows our elections are bought and paid for by corporations, and legislation is all but voted on by corporations, but yes, it’s the government we must control! That’s like charging the gun with murder. But hey, it’s a simple story that doesn’t make you think too hard.

You are aware that the government is complicit with that, aren’t you?
You are a moron. Obviously big business works had in hand with government. Limit government and you limit big business. Most businesses got big because the government sets up regulations to help some and harm others. Don’t allow government the power to do that.

I don’t oppose taxes. I oppose excess government waste and power. I like having roads to drive on. I just don’t think it should cost almost 1/2 my income to fund them.

Yes. Your point, other than that, if there’s a government around, you’ll blame it for whatever’s ailing you?
You’ve obviously never read any history. Or been outside. You see, there’s this thing called the economy, and people must participate in it, regardless of the size or composition of government. And the people who control the economy, control it whether they use government, or just own everything outright. Make sense?
Crack a book once in a while and read about 19th century American capitalism, back when the state did leave industry alone, except for when it was busting up unions and cutting workers’ wages, Back then, before they had a convenient organ like the government, mining companies (for instance) just owned whole towns. That’s what you don’t get. There’s no such thing as a power vacuum. If you get rid of the velvet glove, you’re still left with the naked iron fist.

It doesn’t. Nearly a half goes to the military, or to interest for past military-caused deficits, after you add in all the hidden costs. I don’t think you should be taxed to death either, but man, let’s get real. It’s not programs for poor people that are your enemy.

Okay Ryan, I have to ask…what happens to the guy who doesn’t want to pay taxes or go to prison? What if this guy just wants to live in peace with his family on his land and do neither? Do they not use force to haul his sorry ass of to the klink?

Of course they do, but Orion, going for a daytime Emmy, complains about the “guns pointed at his head.” He paints quite the picture. At the same time, he forgets this same government is what makes his beloved capitalism possible.
And anyway, this whole thing happens in capitalism, not socialism, so I don’t know what you’re complaining at me about. It’s your system.

But if you resisted to pay taxes AND resisted going to jail, would they not point the guns at your head?
Also, capitalism points guns at my head to participate in capitalism? Weird, I don’t remember any shock troops when I buy my capitalist shit. I’ll keep looking…

bad analogy.
if you resisted to pay taxes AND resisted going to join, “they will” point the guns at your head.
now, if you take your capitalist shit and resist to pay it, “they” will immediatly point the guns at your head.
in the first case, it’s cause fraud
in the second case, it’s called theft.
both are answered with armed force.
because in both cases, you don’t pay what you owe.
and yes, you owe taxes. no matter what you may think about it, not matter how bad they may be.
don’t forget we live in democratic countries.
if “we the people” vote for taxes (and we do), “we the people” have to pay them.
I never found a flat screen zv or an Audi that I neither needed and wanted at my doorstep because someone else decided that I “needed” them and then point guns at me to make me pay up.
No, just saying that the situation you’re complaining about is one that happens under capitalism. It’s not like we don’t pay any taxes now and I’m trying to change that.
