So did they say anything about a possible collision with the larger meteor? That thing would move way to fast to be hit by a missile and I feel if the government knew it was an actual threat they would do as MUCH as possible behind scenes to keep from a widespread panic… We should send Bruce Willis to send it to kingdom come.
2012 DA14 has already passed us. It passed at a distance of 17,200 miles (which is damn close). Astronomers maintained that there was no threat of impact with DA14 and that was correct.
Maybe. But that doesn’t mean it didn’t leave behind some kind of zombie virus in the atmosphere that will turn most the earth’s population into brain eating ghouls.

Hahaha I love how everything always turns into zombie empademic with stuff like this, my previous post was half serious but definitely an interesting thing to note… How close and vulnerable this earth always is to some sort of cosmic interference.

People are actually surprised a chunk of rock causes chaos?

They are only surprised because it happens only happens every few decades.

in fact it probably happened somewhere on earth less than 100 years ago, but it there was no worldwide media to report on it or it was in an unpopulated area(most of the earth)

The only reason this meteor caused damage is because it was big enough to survive a complete burn-up through the atmosphere and make people shit themselves.

I find it quite ignorant when scientists throw facts out stating how rare it is and see fit to quantify the chance of it.

NASA states that even they cannot track these types so the chance of them happening cannot be calculated.

One of these things could hit any major town or city tomorrow and we’d not know about it until it happens.

We are all doomed once they pull that piece that fell into the frozen lake…lol

True…the sensationalizing current state of our media is definitely a factor. Read up on other airburst events since Tunguska event. Ural Mountains area seems to get the brunt of these events, correct??

That meteor probably scattered some brand new heavy element or compound formed elsewhere in the cosmos into the atmosphere when it exploded. In a few months we’ll hear of entire migrations of birds dropping from the skies, and later get reports of people suddenly behaving like squirrels.

One for SS and Vegeta…

Well, I don’t know if 3 events happening in siberia tells us much because siberia is fucking huge(75% of russia) and the world’s largest contiguous mass(no oceans nearby).

So basically there are probably 10 times as many events as are reported and it just happens to be to be that you’re likely to see events reported in the urals vs other parts of siberia and also more likely that the event happens over land vs somewhere like europe surrounded by oceans.

Aww man this is hilarious

Russian reaction to the meteorite…
