10 Miles Back Again

What variation of 531 you thinking of hitting next year mate?

Was skimming through 531 Forever tonight funnily enough

I’ll probably start basic with prep school, then see how I go from there. Very likely to do Morning Star, at least once. On the maybe pile I’ve got:

  • 1000% Awesome
  • Building the Monolith
  • Letter to Young Jim Wendler template
  • Krypteia or Krypteia Redux
  • Full Body Full Boring

All 3 day templates, because I don’t see myself lifting 4 days a week very regularly.

Five and Dime is a pretty excellent 3x/week template.

My copy of Forever is in a room with a sleeping child, can you give me the TL:DR please?

You wind up hitting your 85/90/95% sets two sessions each cycle. One of them is a 5x5 and the other is a 10+.

Sounds interesting. And pretty intense. That can definitely go on the challenge pile. Thank you

Glad to see this in here!

Work for today:

Press:
5 x 40kg
5 x 50kg
3 x 55kg
3 x 60kg
5 x 1 @ 65kg (20sec rest)
1 x 67.5kg, 4 x 1 @ 67.5kg (20 sec rest)
1 x 70kg, 1 x 65kg, 3 x 65kg (20 sec rest)

Notes:

  • That’s all she wrote for now. Short notice change to schedule so planned assistance (@T3hPwnisher push up challenge) will have to be done later or tomorrow.
  • Presses felt really clean and smooth today, hence the extra weight on the second and third clusters.
  • 70kg done, at last. I’m confident I’ve been capable of it for a while, I just fuck it up when I actually get there. Definitely a mental barrier because 67.5kg moved clean as anything. 70kg was probably an RPS 7, was definitely having to will it up.
  • Will probably have to accept that an extra 10kg isn’t happening in 4 stressful weeks but I’d like to push on, see how close to 80kg I can get.

It’s the pursuit that matters. That said: accept nothing. Expect greatness. You’re doing awesome.

Great job mate! You’re a hard worker and 80 kg will come, that’s all that matters

Quick 5mins while ā€œtaking stuff to the garageā€:
Tabata press (20kg)

What they said. I seem to remember a fail video not long ago with an attempt around 70? That didn’t even budge? I’d say that’s progress.

Also, you’re not allowed to lie when using the RPS scale. A 7 means 7 actual seconds, and everyone knows that’s impossible.

Last fail at 70kg was a pretty solid fail around the top of the head, and under pretty similar conditions. This was hard, I didn’t film it but it definitely made its way up the Simo scale. I had time while pressing to consider giving up, and to think about my positioning, why it was pants and correct it. I’m a slow thinker so that’s probably several hours worth of thought

Must be thinking of some other funny fail video you posted. But whatever, you got it up, and that is half the battle. Also, that’s what she said.

I was pretty happy considering it’s a weight I absolutely know I can do. I may have shouted ā€œfuck yeah, you c**tā€ at the top, which as we all know is the sign of a real PR.
