10 Miles Back Again

I knew that, but I knew it was a painful subject for him and didn’t want to call him out. But it’s totally cool that you did, lol.

You getting soft in your older years?

The real question is what are you doing on my lawn.

Haha nah don’t listen to them @dagill2 (or yourself) go for the 70 and grind it my man!

Because its 70kg. I don’t bother with a belt for upper body lifts, it doesn’t feel necessary.

I was thinking my grip looked a bit narrow. Would that be different ways of going about the same thing?

I think I can probably do that. I’ll start practising next press session.

I get far too much grief for my choice of trousers on this log. Makes me want to dig out my santa mankini just to put a stop to it.

I’m confident I’ve got 67.5kg in me. If I’d gone in fresh, fed and healthy, I reckon 70kg is there too but I’m not too worried about testing either soon.

You’ll get your grind soon enough man. That 80kg isn’t going up smoothly.

I think you just asked @alex_uk out on a date? Judgement free.

I’m gonna wait until he replies before I laugh that off as a joke.

Awkward silence…

Wait what… you failed though! The overhead press is pretty much the lift after squat that benefits the most from a belt.

Maybe? I am not sure. Would have to see.

Lucky I didn’t just compliment your quads on another thread too. That would have made it super awkward

Haha yea totally, to be fair I posted a near nude photo of myself online, from what little I’ve seen of Instagram that makes me fair game for all manner of unsolicited lewdness!

Fun fact: the origin of the lifting belt was SPECIFICALLY for lifting weights overhead. It’s inclusion for squats and deads is fairly recent historically.

Shit, get a room you two.

Just use the belt already!

@T3hPwnisher @ChickenLittle @Koestrizer @Cyrrex alright, I’ll wear a belt, but if this makes my lifts go up, that’s all your fault.

Don’t think my observations have much merit, but I third that there seems to be a lack of tightness/upper back involvement. I think you would have had the rep otherwise. The angle and darkness make it a bit difficult to judge though

Feedbacks a gift, so thank you

Mate watching that press fail I feel like you were going to fail that right from the start. You looked at the bar for ages and then when you unracked it I didn’t see or feel and intensity. For a 1rm overhead you need to attack it. Is that doesn’t mean rush the press like @alex_uk did last week. But you need to grab the bar with purpose get tight on the unrack, engage the lats and a little lean back before the press helps. I think you have 70 in you right now if you approach it differently.
