10 Miles Back Again

That’s freaking awesome visualisation! Going to pinch that for BtM and maybe set some stupid ohp goals myself.

It’s really what got me on board with it. That value of the clean as part of the press too. When you do BtM, consider cleaning each set from the floor on weeks 2 and 5. They’re lighter weeks, and you should be able to get away with it. If you’re really feeling good, do it on all of the weeks, or maybe do half sets clean from the floor and half not.

But yeah, no other lift gets me jazzed from a “what would I look like” perspective. Deads KINDA close, in that I think, if I could pull 800, I’d be pretty thick, but not broad.

Interesting suggestion, I’ll do it!

Pretty sure cleaning (or my bastardised version of) won’t be a problem all program, I’m simply not strong enough over head to make cleaning it a challenge, maybe that should be the goal, get ohp big enough that I can’t clean it!

Oh fuck, you just reminded me. I did clean and press at the start of the workout today. That’s what you get for not writing it down straight away.

Yeah, it doesn’t make it SUPER challenging, but just adds a little something to an already brutal program. Toward the final weeks, when you’re doing 15 sets, that clean at the start will suck, haha.

Ohh nasty, I’d forgotten about that, well I committed to it now! Fools rush in…

Just load the bar, press it and don’t stop pushing even if you see stars! Worked for me :joy::crazy_face:

I want a @T3hPwnisher challenges workout thread. Every month you post a challenge workout that we can do instead of our planned session.

I cannot stress enough how much I don’t want this.

But if you want some absolutely cunty workout ideas, I’m happy to oblige.

An 80kg press is an admirable clear goal - training just becomes so much simpler.

That press was the kind of heroic lift you do to save 8 puppies from a falling tree or something.

Or it’s just the press you do when you haven’t trained press for ages and your not really strong enough !!

A “WOM” as it were, haha. I could make that happen. I usually come up with something dumb about that frequently.

@dagill2 Blog post this week should be relevant to your goals.

Do it. It will be fun to watch. From a safe distance, of course.

Yeah, great idea.

“Hey, J, why are you limping and whining?”

“A stranger on the internet challenged me to do a stupid workout.”

Pass.

By relevant, do you mean an exact “do this” template? I think I’m hitting most of those points, most of the time. Some of the ideas I originally copied from you have obviously fallen by the wayside and need to be brought back with a vengeance. The only bit I’ve missed the boat on is the block periodisation style. I don’t think there’s really a load of time to switch at this stage (hard to fit a multi-year process into 3 months), so I’ll probably stick to my current approach there.

Never. I am not a coach. Just food for thought.
