1 Year In, Severe Muscle Pain and Issues

What labs do you currently have on hand?

I’ll have to log into my patient portal tomorrow and grab them. My Dr said everything looks fine. But I will try to find them and post them. Hopefully they missed something that will explain more.

I actually don’t know if there is a test for fibromyalgia. They have been making quite a lot of steps forward in that department though so you might want to do a phone appointment with your doctor. Its often described as having over active nerves that cause random pain. Something is going on that is not good and it might take along while to find an answer and it might be a symptom of something more serious.

Some natural herbal stuff can be a lot worse than the medicines you might get prescribed. Tiger balm isn’t really addictive though so you could give that a shot. I would stay away from anything opiate or synthetic opiate related. You are not alright with being a zombie so unless it is a medication that causes quite a bit of euphoria like an opiate, synthetic opiate or a benzodiazapine then there is no chance you will continue taking it if it does make you such.

Meditating can help with pain a lot! There was also this virtual video game scientists were trying to use to teach people with pain how to control it and while playing it, it actually helped more than percocet. Basically they hooked up sensors to people’s pain receptors in the brain and the patient saw a log fire. The more they used their brain to control the pain the larger the fire grew and this gave people something tangible to learn how to control pain with. For myself I can limit my pain (I have nerve pain aggravated by the tmj muscle) if I relax and focus on doing whatever in my head is helping it (it’s like a form of meditation and being super aware of my body and the parts that hurt) but once something breaks the meditation it just starts hurting again. What also works is being preoccupied by something else sometimes.

You can try anti-inflammatories when the whole covid thing is over or if it gets really bad. My doctor wrote a script for topical diclofenic cream which doesn’t help my nerve pain but has helped muscle soreness. Ice packs help. You could try something like L-Theanine to relax you or drink different teas.

Sounds silly but I got to ask. Your not over training and just have a ton of sore tendons that you aren’t letting heal right? Also you don’t always need to train to failure. They’re tons of benefits to leaving reps in reserve especially as you get better at training  yes it is hard to do at first but I feel like if you know how to train hard to real failure and have for awhile before then it can help you get a better muscle to mind connection. Also flexing while doing the exercise makes lighter weight much harder. But I would definitely give working out a break to see if it gets any better plus you’ll probably come back stronger. If you find motivation a little hard to get when trying to get back in then maybe use resistance bands while sitting down or something and do body weight exercises but I wouldn’t do this during the break.

All in all you need to talk to a real doctor. Might not hurt to post your blood results though either as there seems to be some quite intelligent people on here.

I wish you all the best man! It’s getting nice out so try to have some fun and enjoy other hobbies. I personally have to finish swapping an automatic transmission for a manual one and I am missing some bolts so that is fun lol.
